Here we have a very nice 1978 Goldwing GL1000 for sale. It shows about 23000 miles on speedometer but speedometer failed about one year ago. This bike belongs to my neighbor who used to ride it to work regularly until he had some problems with knee replacement and is unable to straddle the bike now. This bike has always been stored in a carport and covered. Absolutely no rust damage that I can see anywhere except on the starter cover which could be cleaned off. The chrome is excellent. Some of these old bikes have rust problems on the chrome but not this one. The original paint is not show quality but very good for a '78. I rode the bike and all the gears are quiet, and the clutch is smooth. Everything seems good. Here's the good: * Recently had the alternator replaced with new timing belts * Carbs rebuilt recently, starts, idles, and runs good on all cylinders * Tires - front is new, back about 75% * Battery- approximately one year old * Has the points replaced with electronics (don't know the brand) * Has comfortable custom seat, no bad spots or tears * Everything works, signal lights, brake lights Now the bad: * Speedometer doesn't work, neither speed indicator or odometer * Horn button missing * Needs right side cover
