1978 VW Convertible CHAMPAGNE II EDITION: This vw is the Champagne II Edition of which only 1300 were sold in the US. All original documents included with this one including the original dealer window sticker, owner’s manual, and original purchase invoice. I purchased this VW in 2003 and had the engine replaced (fuel injection was changed to a carburetor.) New engine has less than 3000 miles on it…it runs great! It has been a ‘weekender’ vehicle that was used in summer only & stored in winter. All 5 tires (full-sized spare) were purchased new in 2009 and have less than 500 miles on them. The battery is new. This vw is blue in color with white seats and a white convertible top. The exterior has been repainted and the air conditioner has been removed . The convertible top works, however it is over 30 years old and is something you would probably want to replace at some point. The wood-grained dash is a feature of the champagne edition and is in good shape with the original radio and clock. There is a tear in the driver's side seat (see photo). The chrome bumpers are the original (heavy chrome) bumpers, not the replacement after-market type that are available now. A black leather front-end bra is included, but was not used on the vehicle while I owned it. Current odometer reading is 61921. This is a great little 1978 Bug…with a little TLC, it could be fantastic, not to mention an increased value. This vehicle is being sold as-is. The title is free and clear.
