1970 Volkswagen Beetle - VW Bug 83,747 miles 1.6L Dual Port Motor Fresh Restoration This is a freshly completed nut and bolt restoration. This Volkswagen Beetle looks great and is ready for a new owner. Here are the highlights of the restoration work done: Body - The Beetle has fresh Rally Red paint. It also has new complete floor pans and heater channels on both the passenger and driver side. There are all new seals and weatherstrip throughout the car - including hood seal, engine cover seal, door seals, glass seals, stoppers, plugs, fender beading, and body to pan seal. New windshield and one piece door glass kit. The underside of the vehicle has been painted and given a light undercoating to prevent any future damage or rust. The front turn signal lenses are new and the housing have been powder coated gloss black. New taillight lenses and side reflectors also with powder coated housing. License plate light housing and headlight trim rings have also been powder coated. Mechanical - The Beetle has been gone through mechanically with a few minor upgrades. All new parts have been used to restore the Beetle. Suspension & Steering - New front shocks and new rear shocks along with new inner tie rods. The front end was just serviced and lubed. Tires - Cooper tires in very good condition with plenty of tread. Brakes - The brakes were recently replaced on all four wheels. Including new pads, hardware, and lines. Hand brake functional and recently adjusted. Fuel System - Fuel tank was cleaned and all new lines/hoses installed including the fuel filler neck and overflow lines. The carburetor is also recently rebuilt. Ignition System - All new including: plugs, wires, cap, rotor, condensor, and points. It has the "009" centrifugal advance distributor. Electrical - The electrical system has new bulbs where needed and all features work as they should. Transmission - The four-speed manual transmission was just serviced with fresh fluid, new back up light switch, new mainshaft seal, and new clutch, pressure plate, release bearing. Motor - This has the 1.6L Dual Port. New gaskets and seals in the motor - including the rear main seal (flywheel seal). New motor/trans mounts installed. New alternator belt. Fresh oil screen and oil. It has the oil pressure booster kit installed with hex head plugs (for easier future service). New engine compartment seals - front and rear. New engine compartment/firewall insulation. The valves have just been adjusted as well. Runs very well and is a strong motor. Interior - Beige velour interior - much cooler in the summer than black vinyl. The interior features a new padded dash, including knob caps, and defroster vents. There is a sony am/fm cd player installed with a 4" speaker in the factory location in the front and a pair of 6x9s in the rear speaker shelf and a new collapsible antenna installed. The entire interior has new padding/insulation for a quiet and comfortable ride. There is new TMI black loop carpeting installed in the front passenger area as well as the rear cargo area. There is also a new hand brake boot and rear view mirror installed. Overall the Beetle is practically brand new and should give the next owner many years of enjoyment. The car looks great and would make a great car to take to shows or enjoy as a daily driver with great gas mileage for a classic car.
