Vehicle Detail
THIS VEHICLE IS LOCATED IN KENTUCKY. PLEASE CONSIDER THIS BEFORE BIDDING. DESCRIPTION: You are bidding on one previously owned 1997 Chevrolet Suburban. This was owned and turned in to us by the Kentucky State Police. This is now considered Kentucky State Government Surplus Property. They have asked us to sell it for them on EBAY. VIN: 3GNFK16R9VG102973 GENERAL: This Suburban is Black with Tan leather seating and tan carpeting throughout. It has the 5.7 Liter (350 c.i.) V8 Gasoline motor in it. THIS SUBURBAN HAS A FEW ISSUES THAT YOU NEED TO BE AWARE OF. MOST OF THE ONES THAT I COULD FIND ARE: The engine has a dead miss in it. It also has a small exhaust leak. There are quite a few interior pieces that are missing too. Some of the missing pieces are keeping other things from working or working properly. When the driver's door is opened, the interior lights DO NOT come on and if the key is in the ignition, the 'buzzer DOES NOT buzz. BUT when any other door is opened, the interior lights come on and the buzzer alert buzzes. THIS SUBURBAN HAS LOCKED ME OUT OF IT TWICE. SOMETIMES, WHEN THE KEY IS TURNED ON, THE DOORS LOCK, not every time, or you open the door to get out with the motor running and the door gets closed, you may be locked out. The dashboard has missing trim around the dash and speedometer housing. The headlight switch assembly is just laid up in a cavity in the dash. There are a few knobs missing from the heater and Air Conditioning controls. The trim the separates some of the stereo components are gone and the CD player has the heater control resting on it. See the pictures. In the ceiling, just behind the front seats, something is missing from there. I can only guess what it could have been. Perhaps a DVD Player? Also in the ceiling, at the very rear, the speaker grilles are gone. Inside the driver's side rear door under the seat on the outer edge, there is a piece of trim missing there too. Perhaps more than just one piece, not sure. On the Passenger side the front door has the window control and the door lock control missing. The wires have the terminal ends on them, but the control units and switches are gone. The Passenger side front window WILL NOT go UP or DOWN at all, not from the driver's side controls either. ALL OTHER WINDOWS work, or at least they work from the Driver's seat. I did not try them each individually. I did try the Passenger front window after it was discovered that it would not operate from the main control switch. In front of the center console on the floor, someone has something 'screwed' to the floor and the imprint is there along with several small screw holes and a bit larger hole that has some carpet insulation coming up through it. Now, THIS Chevy also has a BAD BATTERY and perhaps a bad Alternator OR some other charging problem(s). It has to be jump started every single time. The gauge shows that it is constantly discharging. Could that be part of the engine's miss, perhaps, but I would lean towards NO. There is a fluid that drips onto the ground on the passenger's side on the inside of the front wheel but drips from the rear most part of the lower control arm. It is a clear liquid that resembles Brake Fluid. It IS NOT Brake fluid. When it is running it drips. It is where the A/C would condesate onto the ground but it has an oily feel to it. It is not motor oil or transmission fluid. THIS SUBURBAN IS BLACK AND BLACK Paint tends to show evry little scratch. Even from washing it there seems to be small scratches and swirl marks in the black that you usually do not see in other colors as soon as you do in black. That being said, this SUV is covered with those types of super fine scratches and swirls. Fading has happened and it has places that are much more black than other places. Now I try to describe the vehicle to you. DRIVER’S SIDE: Front Fender: It has 2-3 chips in the paint. It has those super fine scratches That generally show up in Black vehicles. Driver’s Door: There are a few spots that have the black paint missing where they removed the decals or emblems from the door. One small dent under the door handle. There are a few scratches other than those described above. Below the handle on the rear edge of the door there is a place about 2-1/2" long that has paint missing. Rear Door: It has 3-4 very light / small dents and a couple of chips in the paint. One little bigger chip at the bottom of the window on the "C" Pillar that has some surface rust. Rear Quarter Panel: There are several scuff marks and / or scratches all along underneath of the rear side window where there were decals and they have been removed. The running boards seem to be in good condition. REAR END: Bumper: It appears to be all there and in pretty good condition. There is NO visible rust and there are no visible dents. It could use a good cleaning and it could be 'stained' with a dirty look. There is a tow hitch under the bumper but I could not find any plug that could be used to hook power to lights to anything being towed. Rear Doors: The doors open "ambulance style" or swing open to outward to the sides. BOTH doors have scratches where decals have been removed. The Passenger side door has a small dent near the tail light assembly. PASSENGER’S SIDE: Rear Quarter Panel: It has several scratches and a couple of small dents and a place that has some paint missing that appears to have been from removing the decals that were located all along the panel just under the rear side window. There is a 'stick-on' antenna stuck onto the side window glass. Rear Door: It has a couple of chips in the paint and a small dent near the door handle and the rest of the door just has a a few chips in the paint. Front Door: There are a few small scratches where the decals were removed. Perhaps a few very small chips in the paint. Near the bottom of the door are a couple of bigger chips in the paint. There may be some residue from the removal of the decal or emblem. Front Fender: Only has 6-8 bigger chips in the paint that each have surface rust in them. The running boards have a couple of places have a little bend in them. ALL FOUR (4) SIDE DOORS HAVE CHROME PEELING OFF OF THE BODY TRIM MOLDING . FRONT END: Bumper: It looks to be in descent shape and just needs a good cleaning. It could be 'stained' and just look dirty. Grille: It has a little of the chrome that has worn off of the edges of some of it, but it looks good overall. There are two tow hooks under the bumper. Hood: There are several light scratches and several chips in the paint. Most of the chips are on the leading edge of the hood. One of the biggest spots is just to the center of the passenger side headlight. It is a place about 3" x 3/4" and has rust formed in it. Under the hood in engine compartment the light bracket has rusted and broken and the light is just hanging by the power wire. It does not work. ROOF: There are factory rook racks on the roof. The roof is in pretty good shape. No holes where antenna used to be. WHEELS: All four wheels have the center caps or the middle pice missing. (The piece that covers the lug nuts.) ALL 4 OF THE TIRES ARE SHOWING SIGNS OF DRY-ROT. Some have places 3-4 " long around the the tire bead. The tires do not have much tread life left. The wheels are 6-lug wheel. The tire size is: P245/75R16. INTERIOR: It is Tan. Tan Leather Power front seat(s). Tan leather rear seats too. The carpet is tan too. The carpet does have some stains here and there. There are 4 floor mats. THERE IS NOT A THIRD ROW SEAT nor any provisions for it in the floor. The seat belts are there for it though.
