THIS VEHICLE IS LOCATED IN KENTUCKY. PLEASE CONSIDER THIS BEFORE BIDDING. DESCRIPTION: You are bidding on one previously owned 1998 Ford Taurus LX. This was owned and turned in to us by the Kentucky Department of Criminal Justice. This is now considered Kentucky State Government Surplus Property. They have asked us to sell it for them. VIN: 1FAFP52U3WA224438 GENERAL: This Taurus is White in color. It has the 3.0 Liter V-6 Gasoline engine in it. It has 108,396. miles on it. This car is in good condition inside and out for the age of it. The battery is junk. You WILL need a battery. While we have our battery pack hooked up to it, this car runs very well. The Air Conditioner works and gets very cold. Everything works as it should. When you unhook the battery pack, it wants to cut out and stall. So this car NEEDS a new battery as soon as possible. Bring a new battery and we will help you put it on before you leave. It is a 4-door car and very clean inside. Very little wear on the seat(s). There is an antenna affixed to the rear window glass. It must have been for a phone. There is a phone mount on the dash and another on the floor in front of the center console. The tires have a lot of life left in them as they look almost new. There is a small spare and tire jack in the trunk under the carpet and it looks as if it might have never been used. The tire size is P205/65R15. The two front tires are the same kind by Good Year (Regatta). The two on the rear match each other also and they are also Good Year (Integrity). They must have been purchased near the same time as they all look to be in great condition and all have about the same amount of wear on them. There is only one (1) key to this vehicle. The TITLE is clear and here with the vehicle. DRIVER’S SIDE: Front Fender: It looks to be in good shape. Driver’s Door: There are 3-4 very small chips in the paint. There is a scratch on the door handle approx. 1” long where paint is missing. The trim in the middle of the door has a couple of chips in the paint. There may be some residue from the removal of our KY State emblem. Rear Door: It has 2-3 small dings or dents on the body line or curve. There is a scuff mark high on the door on the forward edge of door near the bottom of the window. It also has 1-2 small chips in the paint. The rest of the door looks good. Rear Quarter Panel: There are only 1-2 very small chips in the paint. Other than those, this panel looks to be in good shape. REAR END: Bumper: It may have a few very light scratches, but overall, it appears to be in good condition. Trunk Lid: There are several very light scratches on it, but otherwise it appears to be in good condition. PASSENGER’S SIDE: Rear Quarter Panel: It has some very light scratches and two (2) very small dents near the rear door. These dents look as if they might be door dings. Rear Door: It has 1-2 small chips in the paint. The door trim or body molding has some paint missing on the upper edge of the trim. Front Door: There are 8-10 small chips in the paint. It also has a couple of scratches and a couple of scuff marks. There is some paint missing from the body trim. There may be some residue from the removal of our KY State emblem. Front Fender: Only 10-12 small chips in the paint. The rest of the fender looks to be in good condition. FRONT END: Bumper: It has a good size scuff mark or maybe it is a scratch just to the passenger’s side of center. There 2-3 scratches on the bumper too, and one of those scratches is approx. 3” – 3-1/2” long. Hood: There are several light scratches. There are also several chips in the paint. Most of the chips are near the forward edge of the hood. The biggest chip is back up the hood towards the windshield between the windshield washer spray nozzles. The headlight lenses have faded some. ROOF: There are 3-4 small chips in the paint. The rubber around the rear window is cracking. Phone antenna is mounted (stuck) to the glass on the rear window. The Passenger side “A” pillar has a little paint flaking issue at the bottom of it near the fender. WHEELS: All four wheels have the wheel covers or hub caps in place. All four could use a little paint on them. They have faded or the paint is coming off. INTERIOR: It is very clean, especially for its age. It has Gray cloth seats and Gray carpet with Gray matching floor mats. There are two (2) brackets that could possibly be for some type of cellular phone(s). One is mounted to the dash and the other id mounted to the floor in front of the center console. The center console ‘flips’ up and forward to access the cup holders and to add a little extra storage. The top of the console is an arm rest or fold it up and back to have more elbow room or to access the bottom of the console. This Taurus has AM/FM Stereo, Rear Window Defroster button in-dash and dual front Air Bags. It also has Cruise Control, Tilt Steering Wheel, Power External Mirrors, Power Door Locks and remote trunk release in the dash. The cigarette lighter and ash tray appear to have never been used. If they have been used, it was very little. The car does Not smell like smoke at all. The driver’s seat has two (2) very small spots where the cloth appears to have been melted. (I know, it could be a cigarette burn spot.) I don’t think that this car has been smoked in on a regular basis at any rate. PLEASE REMEMBER THAT THIS VEHICLE NEEDS A NEW BATTERY. IT WILL PERFORM MUCH BETTER AND RUN PROPERLY WITH A NEW BATTERY. I had this vehicle running while these pictures were taken. Please note that it is entirely possible that we missed something or failed to see it or failed to mention something about this vehicle.
