Vehicle Detail

Up for auction, 1966 R60/2 in very good to excellent condition. Matching serial numbers. Fresh top end. Always kept indoors. New tires, pistons & rings, cables, gaskets, gas lines, brakes, $2000.00 in exhaust. Reconditioned heads, carbs, wheels and spokes. Paint is mostly original with only a few minor scratches. Starts on the first kick, and runs and rides incredibly. An exceptional example of classic German machine. Local BMW repair shop advised that the bike is an, "excellent specimen." Comes with three original ignition keys, original tool box key, original owners manuel, Clymer manual, complete repair manual in German. I love this bike, and really hate to sell it. However, my wife and I are going through a foreign adoption and I would like to have liquid assets available if needed. I have placed a reserve on the auction, however I do believe that it is fair considering the quality of the bike. If the reserve is not met, I will consider the highest bid. If you have any questions, please call, 402-601-1163.On May-30-13 at 19:07:13 PDT, seller added the following information: I am sorry to the person who already bid on the machine. The odometer reading is 54735, not 5473. I am sorry for the mistake. The bike is completly operational, and runs and drives smooth. The photos are accurately representational, excluding the minor scratches as mentioned before. Thank you!!!On Jun-01-13 at 10:46:12 PDT, seller added the following information: Just lowered the reserve a bit. Just wanted to give some history on the bike. I purchased it from the second owner who lived in St.Louis. He advised that he had never driven the bike on the street, and would only drive it at the airport where he has his hanger. When I went to St. Louis to pick up the bike we literally had to wheel it out of his living room, as he was storing it there as a, "Piece of art work." It had remained in his living room for the past ten years. During this time he slowly took off parts and sent them off to be refurbished.
