This is a 1997 Ford E-250 Econoline cargo van with the 5.4 liter Triton V8 engine in a NO RESERVE AUCTION. PLEASE NOTE THAT THIS VAN RUNS ON CNG (COMPRESSED NATURAL GAS) ONLY; IT WILL NOT RUN ON REGULAR UNLEADED GASOLINE. It has: power steering, power brakes, anti-lock brakes, 4 speed automatic transmission with overdrive, am/fm stereo, cold air conditioning, decent tires, GE two way radio system, some metal shelving, a hardened steel locking tool box that is so tough it would be nearly impossible to get into it; it is industrial strength heavy duty hardened steel. This van had only one owner before me. It belonged to the Kansas City Water Department and all scheduled maintenance was performed. The cng tanks expired in 10/2012 but have been recertified for two more years. They will need to be recertified again in 2014 and every two years thereafter. The outside is in good shape; there are no major dents and the sheet metal is straight. The white paint is in decent shape and still shines brightly. Inside, the interior is pretty good; it shows some signs of wear, especially on the driver's seat, but overall looks good and clean. Now for the bad news: this van is currently NOT running. I've had it for a year and it has always run smoothly and perfectly until recently it acted like it was running out of gas and quit on me. I had it towed home and it will start for a second or two and then promptly die. I think it's out of gas because the gas gauge has been broken and stuck on full ever since I got the van. I usually just filled it up every 150 miles or so. So, I'm about 95% sure that it is just out of cng and needs to be towed to the station. But, I may be wrong; it may be a clogged fuel filter or some other problem. I called various tow companies and they want so much money to tow it 25 miles to the nearest cng station that I have just decided to sell it as-is. I currently have 4 personal cng vehicles and 2 of them must go anyway. I will start it at $1 in a NO RESERVE auction and let it bring whatever it brings.The engine and transmission are in great shape and it only has 111K miles on it. I am including 15 large photos of the vehicle from every angle to give you a good idea of what it looks like. Please note that you will need to tow it from my location or bring a trailer or tow dolly with a come-along or winch. Acceptable forms of payment for the deposit are cash in person, cashier’s check, or money order.
