1980 BMW R-Series

This beauty was purchased new from Andy Pelc Sales and Service by my dad. It is has the highly desirable air-cooled engine. This was one of three BMW motorcycles that he owned. When he passed away in 1995, he gave it to me. I rode it a few times, but stopped riding when I had a baby in 1996. This is a two-owner, one-family motorcycle. I'm sad to sell it, but that baby now needs a car and I hope to find someone who will love it. Everything is original. It has an air cooled engine. The paint is original. It stills has the original tool kit, tire pump, wheel cable lock, trouble light, and BMW shop rag. Extra spark plugs are included. It has a new battery and fuel lines. She runs great and everything works. Needs: She could use new tires. The handle grip on the throttle should be replaced as it is cracked on the side. There is a missing emblem on the left saddlebag and the rear fender. The right side battery cover is cracked and scratched. All of this is clear in the photos. The speedometer works and the trip works, but there is an issue with the odometer. The numbers on the odometer are not lined up right. They are stuck between numbers and read around 56,000 miles, but I know this is not true. My dad rode it to Florida and back once (about 3,000 miles). My dad rode it around town a bit. I put another 500 on it at best. Last time I checked, it had less than 6,000 miles on it. Something happened and it is not reading correctly. I don't know if there is a way to prove this, but I will swear on the life of my son that it is true. I did not try to correct it, believing that honesty is best.
