RARE 1955 Dodge 5 Widow (3 window rear) "Job-Rated" Stepside Pickup Truck. I do not know for sure, I think these are also called 1/2 Ton Pick-Up Trucks? Runs & Drives, Current California registration until Nov 2013 with clean clear title, and is Smog exempt. Note: this is a short number or days ad with a Low starting price, but really expect to sell fast with low Buy Now Option. Options: Flathead 6 Cyl engine, 3-speed manual column shifter, 12 volt electrical, 2 pairs seat belts, AM-FM CD stereo, 2 working Cigarette lighters, one original and another under dash for accessories, Locking Gas Cap, Anti-theft kill switch, Electric Fuel Pump, Factory wood & metal bed, nice chrome rear bumper with 3500.lbs trailer hitch ball hole. Redone interior is combo of amateur carpet and professional cloth seat upholstery, so feels very clean inside, Rare 3 window rear, New Carburator, Newer Tires. Even Heater Motor works. Body is pretty straight with usual minor stuff, see below description. Very rust free top to bottom. Engine does not smoke & starts right up with its original foot starter. Odometer reads: 96,630. These are very rare models unlike millions of Chevy Chevrolet and Fords made. You usually only see these as basket case rust buckets missing everything or fixed up without there correct engines and selling from teens to $35K, so here is a low cost running driving classic that you can enjoy now, use as work truck or prime candidate for full show restoration with its clean undercarriage. Don't get me wrong, this still drives like an old truck and should be checked out before daily heavy use or long trips, but I drive it around town and great when you need to pick up something or take to Summer Cruise Night. It really turns heads. Some known issues: Even know these problems are mainly very minor, I want to describe as best as I can so the buyer has no surprises or unreal expectations and for some reason I do not see much description on most other ads. Oil drips, but not having to add more often. Some play in steering. Clutch may need adjustment but perfectly drivable the way it is and it does not seem to slip. Passenger side wiper arm is missing drive link arm to motor, but driver side works. Choke not hooked up to new carburetor but starts fine. Crack in lower from P side front window but all other glass is fine (picture). Truck does not have signal lights. No working door key locks, but locks from inside fine and use wing window to get unlocked. Missing P side headlight trim ring and P side glass driving light is cracked. Original gas and temp gage do not work maybe due to possible 12 volt conversion, but has aftermarket gages that do work right under, and original oil pressure and speedometer as well as gage light do work. Bed wood veneer is lifting near cab, but only a year old, so could turn over for fresh wood? See under photo of clean underside wood that may be perfect since not in sun and rain. I think there is a slow drain on battery when sitting. Carb is new, but can stick if you floor accelerator all the way, so may need stopper and looks like may be missing a return spring? It works perfect unless you floor it. Some denting in front and crease in bed door, but rest of body accept minor dings looks pretty straight and clean behind as well, bumpers are also nice. Ding in upper middle front grill. Running boards are very clean and straight. Paint is home done and really deserved new paint at the least. Just new paint and some of this other minor work would make this truck a wonderful looking weekend cruiser and be worth quite a bit for this rare 58 year old classic that can also be so useful for hauling furniture, trailer or camper shell.
