Salvage history due to minor front damage. Has CLEAN TITLE now. Up for auction is this low mileage, 20th anniversary GTI. Here is a little info in case you're not familiar: 2003 marked the twenty-year anniversary for Golf GTI's in the USA. Volkswagen produced 4,200 so-branded "20th Anniversary Edition" GTIs and 4000 were shipped to the United States, 200 to Canada. This event, in 2003, marked the 20th anniversary of the GTI's first introduction to the U.S. These models were produced only in three colors: Imola Yellow, Jazz Blue and Black Magic Pearl. Distribution of production was 50% Black magic pearl, 25% Jazz Blue and 25% Imola Yellow. In other words from 4000 anniversary GTI's sold in the USA, 1,000 were colored Imola yellow, 1,000 Jazz blue and 2,000 in Black magic pearl. This GTI is one of the 1,000 Jazz blue GTI's and out of 4,000 total anniversary GTI's this car is the 2631th of the production. A polished aluminum plate marked by Volkswagen with the number 2631, is also factory installed above the radio opening (Photos.) We purchased this GTI from an insurance auction, with front bumper, headlights and left fender missing. The title was branded salvage due to its value. All the parts we used came off another Jazz blue 20th a friend of mine owns. The only cut back was that his parts car didn't have the original 20th anniversary headlights. But for the time being, and having an appointment scheduled for the DMV inspector to clear the title, we went ahead and installed the headlights my friend sent me. There is also no stereo installed. As you can see the 20th has some upgrades, like a boost gauge, oil temperature, alternator and oil pressure gauge. All the gauges are working as they were meant to and you can see in the photo that every reading on them is within its range. The GTI is also lowered and has 3' inch exhaust all the way to the back. Don't ask me what brand either are. The 20th is mechanically very sound and also very fast. We believe it's chip tuned as well, but I don't have a way of checking as we don't do any performance related repairs. Maybe one of you can shed some light on how to go about that? There was no frame damage at all and I do have some photos that were taken during the repair. The photos show the frame rails being completely intact!! The front skirt is BRAND NEW from Volkswagen. I have the receipt!! NO Airbag was deployed!!! The DMV inspector came last week and inspected the car thoroughly. No flaws or other issues were found with the repairs. We are professional rebuilders and we do these kind of repairs every day. Our reputation is outstanding all across the automotive industry. But if you're not familiar, please do your research, concerning the 20th GTI's and their values first though!! I have all the plastic treys that cover the battery. Somebody before I owned it painted the rear VW batch to match the Jazz blue. If you'd rather have an OEM in chrome, we have that in stock and we'll include it or change that for you. The OEM GTI booklet is also with the car. The GTI has a aftermarket blow-off/diverter valve. The short ram has a brand new air filter.
