Now let the auction begin ! Up for auction is this original 1979 Honda CX500 Custom. This is one of the cleanest vintage honda motorcycles we have had. We believe it was repainted with this black and red paint color at some time. This bike starts great and runs great. It always starts nice with about 1/2 choke and idles very nicely with no choke after about 1 minute of warm up. or less. We just took it for a 100 mile ride down the highway and it ran very smooth with no sputter. Has alot of power and will cruise down the highway with a full size person at 70mph with no problems at all . Faster if you want ! ... Tachometer redlines at 10K and we have only had it about about 5k maximum and it was more than enough power. This bike is alot of fun and will out corner and out perform many of the modern cruiser bikes. Bike has original comstar wheels. Lights , brake lights , turn signals all work good. Brakes work great and tranny is very smooth as well as the engine. When we first got the bike there was a very tiny leak in the master cylinder seal right behind the RH brake lever so it may need a master cylinder kit eventually but seems to be working good for now. Windshield is used and has some light scratches and hazing but works great. Clearcoat has some areas where the clear is peeling and the black paint has a few worn areas and areas where there is a few small chips ( please view pictures of paint to see a close up ) . Front tire is very nice and rear tire has some light wear and is probably about 1/4 worn. Electrics and carbs look spectacular. We did notice there is a ding on the back of the front fender. it can be pounded out or replaced. There is a small ding on the back of the RH exhaust pipe and a very small ding on the LH pipe but they are not that visible. Rear tail light lens has some staining spots on it. This CX is one of the nicest ones we have seen and runs really well. Has a clear and current SD title in our name and will be signed over to the winning bidder . Payment terms: Motorcycle must be picked up within 45 days after the end of the auction. We will keep the motorcycle in our garage until it is picked up. Payment must be made within 7 days of the end of the auction via paypal or cashiers check. When auction is over we will email the winning bidder with our address, phone number , ect . Please do not place a bid if you do not intend to follow through with the complete purchase and transport of this bike. Buyer is responsible for transport but we do know a person who can haul this bike if you do not have your own transport. We can put you in contact with him if you need to get a quote.
