Vehicle Detail
The Car I purchased this 1999.5 Audi A4 in October 2006 as the 2nd owner. If you look through the pictures you can tell this car is in exceptional condition. This Audi has been very reliable and solid. It has 184,XXX mostly highway miles. This is the mid-model refreshed car, hence 1999.5. The changes were cosmetic: headlights, taillghts, front and rear bumpers, door handles. These cars feature exceptional build quality, the interior is very tight and quiet. Doors close like fridge doors with a solid thunk. This A4 features permanent all wheel drive, Quattro, front/side airbags, 6 disc CD changer, front heated seats and Audi sports package. Sport package includes fat Audi sport steering wheel and upgraded suspension. The powertrain is a 2.8 30valve V6 mated to a 5 speed manual transmission. This is a relatively rare combo in the U.S which I shopped around to purchase. As a result you get the bullet proof reliability/technology of the 30v V6 and better driver engagement with the standard transmission. I've put another $6,000 worth of performance modifications in the car, all quality factory or reputable tuner parts. No cheap eBay parts on this car! If you've driven a B5 Audi A4 before, this feels quite different due to the mods. More stable, more power and more presence. Closer to an S4 without the Bi-turbo power. The Mods Performance upgrades GIAC performance chip LLTek Cold air intake with K&N filter Genuine Avus wheels 17x7.5 from Audi S4 H&R Sport springs Bilstein sport shocks Magnaflow 3” exhaust - custom install Hankook Ventus V12s Front Cross drilled rotors + TT carrier upgrade Cosmetic upgrades RS4 front grille 35% tint on sides and back glass Hard-wired escort power source Debadged trunk H&R 10mm spacers all around Xenon gas tinted bulbs Spare wheel/tire The Maintenance This car has always been maintained by my Audi master mechanic friend. Have all receipts for duration of my ownership. Car is in great mechanical condition. Only 3,000 miles ago replaced timing belt again, water pump, thermostat, belts and valve cover gaskets Oil changed with Valvoline Synpower 5w30 synthetic every 5,000 miles Rear brakes at 30% front brakes at 70% Tires at 60-70% Clutch is original but still shifts and engages crisply No oil leaks Listen to the engine The Drive Engine runs smooth and pulls strong. Clutch always engaged high, Audi typical, but shifts are effortless and pedal engagement is easy and pretty light. The modifications I listed can be felt. The suspension is firm and controlled, cruises nicely down the freeway. The chip and cold air intake make the 30v V6 noticeably more responsive and rev happy while the magnaflow gives the car a good presence. Still quite, but under throttle the intake and exhaust come alive. When I first did these mods the guys at the Audi shop couldn't get enough of the sounds this Audi makes compared to stock B5s. This is still an entry level luxury car, but with more of a performance edge. Quattro all wheel drive is exceptional, you never loose grip regardless of rain or ice. Great safety feature and great performance feature. Quattro + wheel/tire package + suspension + standard transmission = miles of grins. A Walk around If you were to checkout this A4 in person you might notice the following imperfections... Exterior Curb rash on 2 wheels Typical paint pitting on front of hood and bumper, touched up with official Audi paint Dent on front of hood by grill Small crack on passenger tail light -- still sealed Car was in a minor front-end accident 3 years ago, just superficial damage to front passenger corner. Professionally repaired and painted Removed fog lights and housings but have in trunk Trunk has slight clear coat wear, no peeling Interior Driver seat leather shows typical wear and there is a rip in the seat area along a seam Tape deck doesn't work Front passenger side speaker buzzes sometimes Keyless entry is not functioning. The central locking unit in the trunk is to blame. Alarm and locking functions manually so I haven't replaced the unit. Headliner in rear of cabin is drooping ...that's the worst of it. Other than these notes, to the best of my knowledge, everything works and is in great condition. Includes Full-size spare Complete Audi tool kit Complete Audi first aid kit A few misc parts + maintenance supplies 2 Audi switchblade keys Not so fine print I've made a best attempt at outlining everything wrong with this car. To clarify I purchased this car titled in my Dad's name in 2006, in 2009 the title was transferred to my name. I've purchased many cars online and want to minimize any chance of miscommunication. If you have any questions for me... carlinsbox@gmail.com. Clean title. Listed locally as well, so reserve the right to cancel this auction at any time. No warranty or guarantees, selling as is to highest bidder. Good luck!
