Up for auction with reserve is this wonderful original 1968 1/2 Honda 450 scrambler CL450k1 . Clear Minnesota title says 1969. This could very well be the first ever Honda 450 scrambler on US soil. The story I was told from original owners brother . Two of the brothers were discharged from the Vietnam War and upon their return they both brought back a CL450 scrambler from Japan in 1969. I purchased motorcycle from: younger brother who bought from older brother who was original owner. Bike had been garage kept and offroad since 1986. From what I can tell this bike has all the original parts minus the left hand mirror and the toolkit. The tank badges -one is almost perfect the other is not as nice , also the side tins are in wonderful shape. The gas tank has multiple dings ,dents and scratches nothing beyond repair . The tank liner is in good shape with a few bubbles but still intact from my visual inspection also clear gas. Bike has some rust on frame noting beyond the surface. I might be overlooking some things but everything I can see is there and appears to be original miles right now are under 3800 on my test drive miles did move up. Now the bike has the following new battery also all Nos OEM: new foot pegs, new handle grips ,new kickstart rubber, new seat grommet rear rubber, new gas lines ,brand new front and rear tires. New throttle cable oem black color. I have also purchased and yet to install brake cable front, and clutch cables these are both grey but not OEM. I keep everything I take off from bike. I have polished most of Chrome with glanol metal Polish. I also rub down most of frame & engine parts. This bike is in wonderful shape for its age would be a wonderful candidate for full restoration or just makes one heck of a head turning bike. I had carbs tuned and such also one new needle then fresh gas and oil and two new dunlop k70 vintage look tires and it started right up on first push sounds so cool. Vin/frame CL450-1008514 AND THE ENGINE CL450E-1008547 i was told this bike was purchased in Japan. Sorry. I know I only have Limited photos in listing. I will email any photo you request please ask. The bad: rust and corrosion on Chrome. Right rear blinker has rash on Chrome. Right fork ear is bent and damaged. Chrome headlight cover has damage. Missing rubber fork booties Tachometer appears to be damaged its blacked out. I don't believe the tachometer or speedometer to be correct jumpy. Handlebars are a bit bent still very rideable. Two small tears/cracking on original seat also two white paint marks. Gouge and scrath on trans cover and oil filter cover. General rust on chrome not seen in photos. Rear fender has a unique shape I'm not sure if work has been done to it there is a few small dent on the right side also with below surface rust spot (shown in pic) . Horn is present I don't think it honks. Dents scratches and rust on exterior of tank. Bottom rear of muffler rust & Holes (shown in pic). Right side handlebar control appears to have fracture does not appear to affect function. Also after my test drive the next morning there was a small oil patch only happens after running apparently . Rear taillight issue one screw of the (4) mount screws was stuck so i cut off leaving threads ( screws attach taillight to fender) 3 remain functional.
