Vehicle Detail

For Sale This is a 1978 Porsche 930 with a DP Motorsport body and badged as a Kremer. It is a Porsche Rest of World model (non-USA) with chassis number 9308700122 and engine number 6780244. It was last sold at the 2000 Monterey Sports Car Auction. The engine was rebuilt and the modifications listed below were done between 2001 and 2004 by S-Car-Go Racing in San Rafael, CA. This Porsche is being sold as a race car or show car. Because of the engine modifications, it will not pass California smog. The car has clean California title and was licensed through 2010 in a smog exempt area of the state. The odometer reads 107,249 miles but I do not know if that is accurate. The engine number decodes to 1978, Turbo, Rest of World so it may be original to the car. This engine has not been on a dynamometer but an engine with similar specifications has and it rated 550HP. Title The car has a clean California Title. The car has California plates. The last registration tag on the plate expired in 2010. It may have been registered in 2011 as well. At the time, the car was registered in a smog exempt area so there were no issues with the DMV. Condition Exterior: The body is in good condition with only a few minor dents and scrapes and with only a small sign of rust below both C-pillars where the paint is cracked. It is missing one brake duct fin on the right side. Note that the license plate light covers are missing. The car has not been wrecked in my ownership and the tuner mentioned nothing unusual during the work done in 2001. The car passed race tech inspections through 2006 when it was stored except for some show appearances. The rear lights (brake, driving, signal and license plate) work as expected. The headlights did not work when tested a few days ago but I suspect old bulbs (they have worked fine in the past). I would judge the paint as Fair, with plenty of cracks, some "blisters", scrape marks, etc. I have tried to document these in the photos. Since 2000 there has been some repaint on the front spoiler and fenders, and the whale tail. The rest of the paint may be original. The stripes are painted, not decals. Interior: The interior is fair. The drivers seat is custom-sized and is in good condition. The passenger seat is better than fair, as are the rear jump seats. Much of the carpeting has been removed and the there is non-standard material behind the jump seats to accommodate the roll cage. The seat belts will be expired for most track events. The door panels are not original. The electric windows work but the passenger side is very slow. The trunk is fair also. There is no spare tire and it is currently using a borrowed standard sized battery. I do have a battery tray for a small Odyssey PC545 battery and the battery cables are set for that battery. I will include a standard battery or Odyssey to suit the buyers preference. Mechanical Work and Use: The last mechanical work was completed in 2004 and since then the car has run in just 2 track weekends (race in 2004 and TT/DE in 2006), and has been occasionally driven on the street for short distances usually related to shows or club events. Otherwise it has been kept in storage. The engine fires up quickly and revs well. The transmission shifts well though the WEVO shift does not always go into 1st gear smoothly. The brakes are upgraded and strong. The tires are low mileage but they are old and not designed for extended street use. Modifications (this list was provided by S-Car-Go): Engine: 3.5L engine ...
