The BMW R1100R was named one of the top 3 used naked bikes to buy by Motorcyclist Magazine, because this bike will surprise you with how well it handles, and how reliable it is over the long term. When it comes to the canyon roads of SoCal the R has a few surprises up its sleeve. The steering is slower side, which limits it in the really tight stuff, but overall this bike is happy rolling around the low C of G from one max lean to the other without drama. Sure the footrests will graze the road as will the cylinder heads, but as a country roads scratcher it's up with the big boys - no mistake. In terms of braking, the R has second generation ABS to go with the large Brembo Brakes and it works well. Moreover, combined with the Telelever front-end the brakes are tremendous and instil a high degree of confidence. What is really great about this bike is the comfort. You can just as easily take this bike to the corner as you can to the Grand Canyon. Note - his is the R1100R model with the upgraded spoked wheels! Unfortunately after a great run, it is time for me to part ways with this bike. She runs great, and has always been kept up to date with maintenance. BMW approved fluids for oil changes, and a capful of Marvel Oil at each big fill up. She was seafoamed six months ago. Cosmetically she has the booboos you would expect with 80k of highway miles, but these are very minor. However, she does have two scratches on the seat, and I would suggest recovering it. See pictures. I really cannot describe just how great this bike feels on the road. So comfortable, but yet connected to a great Boxer engine. The fuel injection system make the power delivery seemless, and the ABS/Brembo brakes are the best I have ever used. Email questions before bidding please. Enjoy her!
