Vehicle Detail
I bought this car used from a dealer in Portland, OR in 2003 when it had 64,000 miles. I drove it across country to Washington, DC where it was a daily driver for 3 years. Then I took it with me when I moved to New York City. While here it has only been used as a weekend driver and garage kept for 6 of the 7 years. I recently inherited a new Ford Explorer and have a new baby. It is difficult to keep moving it around with alternate side parking in NYC and no possibility of installing a baby car seat so I am reluctantly selling it. The car is in superb condition relative to its age and mileage. I'm a mechanical engineer and grew up in Detroit with only Ford vehicles. I have babied this car and it has served very well. I reluctantly put it for sale. It has had all it's routine maintenance and I have paper work for much of it. It did have it's transmission rebuilt at 70,000 miles while still under warranty. I think the previous owner may have used it for towing. When they rebuilt the transmission they installed the secondary radiator (towing package). I have never used it for towing. It runs great now, excellent acceleration and very responsive and agile on the highway. It also gets decent mileage for a 4.0L v6. The frame is dead-nuts straight and it tracks well at high speed. (i.e. you can let go of the steering wheel and it will go perfectly straight at 60+ mph). The Kelly blue book for this car / mileage / condition is $6,900. The reserve is way less then that. It is not a super popular model for NYC so I put it on Ebay so hopefully someone who appreciates these great trucks will get a good deal on it. Email me any questions. *************** Regarding the lower Autocheck score because of the "odometer issue". This was the first time I became aware of this issue. It is obviously a typo that must have happened during a maintenance visit. According to the odometer listing (see link below). The odometer reading went from 63,000 to 9,200 and then back up to 103,000. I think the service tech wanted to enter 92,000 but missed a 0. I've contacted Autocheck to try and get it straightened out. *************************************************** http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/2001-Ford-Ranger-XLT-4X4-Extended-Cab-Pickup-4-Door-4-0L-/271191058090?_trksid=p3984.m1555.l2649&ssPageName=STRK:MESELX:IT&forcev4exp=true#odometer-check 2001 Ford Ranger XLT 139,700 Miles 4WD V6 - 4.0L SuperCab 4-Door Automatic Dual Radiators (Towing Package) New (2012) Premium Shock Absorbers (x4) AC New (2012) After Market Stereo with MP3 & CD Alloy Wheels Running Bars Pickup Shell High quality padded (Bedrug) bedliner Sliding Rear Window Power Windows Power Locks Cruise Control Condition: No major defects No mechanical problems Clean Title History No accidents Paint, body and interior have only minor blemishes No rust Tires all match with substantial life leftOn Apr-17-13 at 09:57:24 PDT, seller added the following information: I bought this vehicle used from a dealer in Portland, OR in 2003 when it had 64,000 miles. The check engine light came on once in 2005. It was the mass flow air sensor. It was replaced and hasn't been an issue since. 2. In 2009 the check engine light came on. This time it was the air flow sensor. There are two, both were replaced. The check engine light has not been on since. 3. The ABS light has never been on. On Apr-20-13 at 20:15:49 PDT, seller added the following information: A question came up about the secondary radiator (towing package). It is in fact a transmission cooler that was installed in front of the original radiator when the transmission was rebuilt. It is not the full factory towing package that it includes the hitch receiver and wiring harness.
