Vehicle Detail

LOTS: to say, please read before you bid. Had this truck for years, but the 390 more or less did not even know what MPG was lol… About 7-8 on a good day. Its also listed local if it sells could be pulled from ebay, but will not stop a winning bid with buy it now. Installed all kinds of parts, Replaced: windshield and rubber seal, Installed 1979 2.3 engine and trans from mercury bobcat, Replaced, timing belt, water pump, fuel pump, oil pump, alternator, Starter, cam, lifters, rockers, master cylinder, custom made drive shaft, custom valve cover had intake pipe installed (tig welded) for better fitting cap. tie rod ends, drag link, pitman arm, oil gauge, tachometer, tailgate. U-joints all It had a ticking noise, I replaced Cam. ,. Radio mounted under dash does work, but is a cassette player that I have not used for years, original radio still in dash. Seat is fair with a cover on bottom and no broken springs. Seat has small hole on back. Floors are solid, and still has original rubber factory surface. 16 inch cooling fan installed with manual switch. Tires are in pretty good shape, will pass any state inspection, Spare holds air fine no issues. Bed base does have rust, some places heavy with little holes in places and , I installed a 2.5 inch angle stock and self tapping screws at front of bed to cover hole, been there for years. The rear end did make some noise, replaced it with an 86 F150 very good shape, springs and all. Oh still needs a passenger side wiper blade. I have installed semi mudflaps cut to work and they do very well. Battery does not hold charge. Frame is very solid! odometer works fine I do not know how many times its turned, but I'm sure its at least 200,000. The project Outcome was better than I thought it might be. Now it would not spin a tire, but I expected that. Ran 65 no problems at all. It would run faster but was not wanting to push with ticking noise, still had the tick and could not figure why. Drove the truck down to the lake with my 15 ft boat and dropped into the water, pulled it out fine, that was test number two. Drove myself nuts trying to find the tick, cam in and out even replace the lifters again. Same… never changed in noise so off I went to give it a run right at 45 miles and return so at 90 mile trip was happy. Did find hills harder to run but did pretty darn good I thought. So getting to the tick was the big thing… Town is about 11 miles one way and on return, noticed starting to run warm, then tick changed to clunk clunk, eased it home. Now I have not taken apart to check, I am pretty sure a wrist pin was failing. I also think it bumped the head and let the head gasket leak, antifreeze seen in oil. This project was a success in finding if the 4 banger would run the truck around for my use. Used to go to town and used a ¼ tank with the 390. The four hardly moved the needle. It never went so far on so little. So the used engine warn pretty badly to start with. And to get her back going again, with the parts I have installed etc. costs should be low. The engine stands are still there to fit a V-8 and the trans mission cross section is still intact. So a v-8 with tranny could be installed again. I have most all the receipts on new items, many will continue with warn if done right. The truck should be towed to move, unless you want a hole in block I would not drive until inspected. If you have questions please ask…. Title is clear I have health issues that have pushed my days of rebuilding a ways down the road I think. Tanks for looking
