Vehicle Detail
You are viewing a numbers matching 1971 Buick Grand Sport. This is an original "numbers matching" 350 4 speed car, that currently has a 455 engine and the original 4 speed transmission. But also comes with the original 350 engine. I have owned /sold many of Muscle cars here on ebay in the past 11 years including: a 1971 Firebird, a 1970 Chevelle, a 1968 Firebird, a 1969 Charger R/T, a 1985 Grand National, a 1968 Charger, a 1968 Mustang, and a 1971 Boss Mustang. This car, my 1971 Buick GS, I have kept the longest and I feel that it is one of the best Muscle cars that I have owned. I have been a member of the Buick GS Club of America for the past 12 years and can tell you that this Buick GS is 1 of only 358 1971 GS 350 4 speed cars made. The car is also listed in the club membership directory for 2005 and 2009, which I will also include. I have never found another 1971 Buick GS 4 speed 350, in this factory color. I have owned this car for approx. 13 years and it was restored, by me, at that time. The car was painted its original factory color, lime green mist, and the original black vinyl top was replaced. The car sounds, and runs just as nice as it looks. ( the sound of this vehicle is amazing and it turns heads every place you drive it) just about every one at all the car show turns and look at this vehicle when it pulls in the lot. I think its a combination of the paint color and the sound of the engine. The original color of the interior was an ivory white, I changed it to black. (just looks better to me) The front seats are not original to the vehicle. I think thay are from a 1974 Firebird or Trans Am. They were in the car when I found it 13 years ago. I just reupholster them and added the custom "GS" logo. I do believe the car came from the factory with a bench front seat (due to the three factory seat belts in the car). The original 350 engine was removed and replaced with a "very potent" 455. this engine has a T/A performance cam that was called the "hemi Killer" and when you hear the sound of this car, you will know why. Yes, the serial number on the transmission and the 350 engine match the VIN of the vehicle. The car has both of it's original "blue and gold" California license plates and has a current California registration and a clear California title in my name. Any questions, just ask. Why am I selling the car?, I have two other Muscle cars to complete, and I need the room. I wish I could keep them all, but us "car guys" know how that goes. On Apr-10-13 at 08:34:22 PDT, seller added the following information: I have been getting a lot of emails about this car so I’m updating the post. 1st. the car is also for sale “off line” so I could end the auction before its time is up. If you are serious buyer, I recommend you come look at the vehicle and make a “reasonable” offer. 2nd. Because I did the restoration, I do have a lot of photos of the restoration process, and a folder full of receipts (it’s about 2 inches full of receipts) 3rd. The front suspension and steering column was also rebuild. 4th. I did not update the front or rear brakes. And it has the original drum system from the factory. The car stops well for its age and drum system. It is not going stop like my Viper, unless you upgrade the system. I never did because I wanted to keep its parts as original as I could. The same is for the rear end. It has the original 10 bolt, and it was never rebuild. I’m also going to list my cell phone because It getting hard to respond to a lot of emails. Please understand that I work 12 hour shifts and it might take me a little time to return your calls (because I can’t have a cell phone at work) but I will try my best. Lastly, the car is not a “show car” it was restored 12 years ago and it is starting to show its age. It has some small paint chips and other very minor things that need working on. But I will say that “any Muscle Car guy” would feel good about driving this around town and to car shows. You never see Buick GS cars at local car shows and to see an original GS 4 speed car Wow!
