Vehicle Detail
1973 Corvette coupe, Orange, 350 ci, 4 speed, T-Top, Tilt and Telescoping Steering, PS, PB, Power Windows, Air Car that shows 19.5K on odometer. I have enjoyed this car for 4 years. I am in the military and moving overseas, so I must sell but really don’t want too. I have driven this car many great miles and it has won a few local car shows. Unlike some listings on Ebay, I won’t give you a fancy write up on how this car is the best thing in the world and you would be a fool not to buy it. Below is a 100% honest and fair assessment of what I know of the car. Please ask if you have any other questions or need other pictures. I am not looking to rip anyone off. Body & Paint… Car spent first 36 years in CA so no rust on frame or birdcage. Paint is nice with 10-12 chips and scratches, only two of them are larger than a pea (see pics). There is some paint peeling around the corvette emblem on the gas door (see pics). Repaint was in 2008 and is good. However, I can see slight orange peel and some paint run in a few small areas only when you look at an odd angle and are specifically looking for it. Correct date coded T-Top bags included. Body is very very straight. Many fiberglass Vette bodies have waves when bodywork is done, but this car is very straight and I can see no signs of any bodywork at all. Overall, the paint is in great shape and the body is superb. Suspension was (noticeably & visibly) rebuilt in 2008 and the car rides smooth. Powertrain… When I purchased, I was told that the engine and transmission are original, but the engine was “decked” on the rebuild which removes the VIN from the block. I cannot verify this, so use your own judgment. However, every other detail leads me to believe it is true. Engine is strong and Hooker Headers with an enlarged cam make it sound great. The carburetor and intake manifold are aftermarket Edelbrock. Transmission is outstanding and it has never popped out, slipped, or had a problem. No problem with the clutch either. I was also told engine and transmission were rebuilt in 2007 and odometer was reset to 0. Therefore, I believe there is 19.5K on the rebuild. The title is exempt, so not positive what total miles are. It has dual electrical cooling fans that are great. The car has NEVER overheated on me like many C3s do. Brakes are good with new stainless steel flex lines. Gas tank is also new. Interior… Car was upgraded to partial Deluxe interior before I purchased it. Originally it is coded for a Standard black interior. The door panels and seats were the only thing upgraded. The radio works, but is an aftermarket with tape player. Headlights, wipers, turn signals, parking brake, power windows, locks, all work. The front carpet is new, and the back looks original. It has a nice set of floor mats too. Wheels and Tires… Three of the 4 Rally wheels are date code correct and I believe to be original to the car. I restored them a few years back with correct paint after a sandblast. There are 7 coats of paint including primer on each wheel. The BFGoodrich tires have 85-90% tread left on them and are in great shape. Things I know are wrong… Driver’s seatbelt does not retract. Passenger’s side door needs weather strip. Cigarette lighter, clock, temp gage, and horn do not work. Heat does not blow, but the C3s are plenty warm inside if you are familiar with them. The AC compressor was removed, so the AC does not work. There is a drain on the battery when it sets for a long period. This is probably just an old car thing, but still wanted to point it out. I put a charger on it before starting. The timing is off a little on the engine and I have tinkered with it a bit. It is a little noticeable when shutting it down after it has been running a lot. Once the idle comes down it shuts down without a problem. The car is stored in my garage year round as seen in the picture. I will include the car cover made specifically for the C3, an assembly manual, and a reprinted owner’s manual. Buyer to pay for shipping. I will help load car if needed. $500 due within 48 hrs and balance within 7 days. Agreed upon arrangements can be made if we speak after ending date. Please ask all questions in advance. Zero feedback bidders must contact me before bidding. Clear title in hand.
