Vehicle Detail
1 owner 1986 Buick Grand National Completely Stock- 39000 Original Miles Original Tires Never Modified Hello and thanks for considering my auction. My name is Kurt and I own and operate Whitehall Motors here in Whitehall Michigan. My dealership has done business in this area since 1988. The dealership has always been small town offering great customer service and specializing in late model low mileage vehicles. Even before I entered the car business, I had a draw to special interest cars, antique, classic and of course muscle cars. One of the lucky people that get to love what i do every day I go to work. In the midst of my everyday, I come accross many cars and a few understandably stand out from the crowd. This 1986 Grand National is defintely one of those few. If you check my feedback as far as you can go, you will notice I have sold and purchased several vehicles here, and have maintained a 100% Customer satisfaction feedback level. I will do everything I can to make sure this Grand National is described accurately and truthfully to maintain this level of service. Now, I am 47 years old. When this car came out I was on the cusp of getting my college degree and had stacks of Ad fliers about this car. My previous roommate graduated a year earlier than me and ended up purchasing one. He of course, brought the gosh darn thing back to school the following year and that was it. That ingrained this car into my syche. Over the years(many as it turns out), I have owned a few nice examples of this car. They have all been great fun. But, none can hold a candle to this one. A little history and background on the car As I said, I have an affinity for these cars so I tend to keep my ear to ground for any trace of any orignal one. A friend just happens to be a contractor and did some work for a local lady, now in her early 70's and saw this car in her one stall attached garage undercover and asked her about it. As you can imagine, he didn't get much done the rest of that day after that. Through conversation though, found she really loved that car but ultimately, due to here eyesight, she hasn't been able to drive it since late 2009. In passing mentioned she was going to have to sell it evertually. That's was all he needed to hear. He called me, I called her, ect.ect... Without having to state the obvious, I purchased the car, but not without hearing her story of how she came to own this Grand National. Yeah, I didn't much work done that day either. A long story short, after much research, she went to George K. Herman Chevrolet Buick is Ravenna Mi(about 30 minutes from me, and 10 minutes from where I grew up). Her plan was to order a black 1986 Buick regal. She had a pluthera of ads and such about the entire line of Regals(all I still have in a binder she gave me), including the GN. She finally decided on her new Regal, but at the last minute, the salesman said they had a Grand National, with similar options she wanted, for just a little more. The rest is history. She bought this car you see before you. She bought the car, the way you see it now. Nothing was modified. She even made the dealer put thier dealer sticker and undercoating sticker inside the passenger side door edge. It is still there and pictured today. The only thing she had done before she picked the car up was had it tough coat undercoated. There is no rust anywhere on this Grand National. If you are looking for an original, unmodified, driven by an old lady, ect..ect...so on and so forth...well this is your Grand National. You can't make this stuff up (Ok, maybe u can, but I didn't!) Carfax Link http://www.carfaxonline.com/api/report?vin=1G4GK4771GP446027&track=true This is a beautiful one owner, Carfax certified, accident free, original paint, original interior, and original tires, 1986 Buick Grand National. The GN has just 39000 original miles. I have the original title from June 1986 that goes to the winner of this auction. Now, I mention orginal tires, because these tires are still nice drivable condition and are the tires purchase on the car in 1986. They aren't weather checked and the tread is still reasonable. (Conversly, the story about my buddies GN he brought to college to rub my nose in. That car had 15000 miles on it then and he was on his third set of rear tires). This car was driven like a Buick regal, not like the Muscle car Grand National it is. Condition The car is orignal as mentioned but it's beautiful too. To give you an idea, the same day the car was purchased, she went to a local department store and purchase 4 matching towels(pictured in the trunk) to put on the seats. She said no one had sat on the seats without the towels down since new. She let no one ever eat in the car. The interior in all aspects looks like new still. The tires have been covered. All the Glass is great. The underside is as it was when undercoated at the dealership. Clean. The wheels are original. The lips of two wheels have minor pitting from sitting in the garage. The finish as you can see is the original Lacquer paint and it looks as incredible in pictures and in person as lacquer paint will. When you get up close, there are some very minor surface scratchs that will come out with a good color sanding/buffing. Something I wasn't willing to do to an orignal paint job. But, keep in mind, these scratches are something you would have to look for. The only paint flaw is a small spot pictured on the front bumper(pictured). No damage, almost looks like a someone left windex sit on a spot the size of two quarters next to each other. Like the clear coat went from gossy to satin. Best I can describe it. The engine compartment is as I purchsed the car and un-detailed. The turbo cover I did remove and repaint but that's the extent of that. As with the underside of the car, vast majority of the inner fenders and fire wall were undercoated when new. As far as mechanically, I did have the car tuned by my local tech and put some high octane fuel in her. This was to offset the remaining old fuel left in the tank we couldn't remove. Let's just say this Grand National just rips now, and that will cover it. In my good friends words, he said "That's just impressive!". As pictured, the trunk contains the original matching full size spare tire(never on the ground), jack, wrench, seat cover towels, cover and her theft deterant "The Club". Lights and guages all works as did in 1986. I have both sets of original keys. In a nutshell, I think you would be hard pressed to find a more original Grand National. In Conclusion Now, I am offering this car for auction. I don't have my head in the clouds. Reserve is realistic and easily attainable but not something a will divulge, otherwise this would be an advertisement, not an auction. I hope you appreciate this car as much as I do. I know I have gotten a little long here, but it's worth it to make sure all the bases have been covered. If your bidding is based on my description above, and my passed history and feedback here on Ebay, there will be no room here for disappointment. With all this said, and as nice as the Grand National is, it is a 27 year old car(man, that make me feel even older now) and will be sold as-is, without warranty as you would expect, but the car will be as described in the listing. I request for the winning bidder to make a paypal deposit of $1000.00 immediately following the conclusion of the auction. The balance can either be via bank wire transfer, certified funds, or prefferable cash in person with 7 days. Please ask you Wife before bidding, not after you will the auction. Whichever terms you choose, the car or title can not leave my dealership before all funds clear my bank. Straight forward terms for honest people I think. If you happen to reside in Michigan, I will have to collect our 6% sales tax based on the final winning bid. I appreciate your time reading my long winded rambling here. I look forward to talking with you. Please take the time to come see the car or call with any of you question you might have. The car is located in Whitehall, Mi 49461. My name is Kurt. My # is 231 578-2887. Calls would be appreciated between 9am-10pm eastern time. Thanks!
