Vehicle Detail
This is a Standard model 26. It has a straight six OHV motor, three speed, brakes on all four wheels. Trunk, wood body and wheels, and crank-up windshield with 3 positions. Easy to start [electric], drives smoothly as a Buick should. We have never gone far, so the new tires have little wear. New running board rubber and step plates. Paint could use some rubbing out but body and stripe color are correct for this model. Wiring is mostly original but works fine, as do the fog lights which are period. Body and wood feel solid, and I have found no rust areas. Fuel gauge works [must be viewed at the rear of the car!] and the car uses an electric pump [visible with filter on the left side of the firewall]. The original vacuum tank is still on the firewall and can be converted back if desired. Also converted temporarily is the carburator, which is a later model and works better than the original brass updraft Marvel. But the original carb setup is fine, comes with the car, and can be re-installed. Visible on the passenger side under the hood is the oil can, used for the fan pulley, and an aftermarket coil. The original is still there and works, but the other one is just for driving. The oils in the vehicle are the correct type for the vintage. The interior was re-done in original style some years back but still looks nice. Speedo and oil gauge work, as well as the original oogah motor-driven horn. Have not tried to get the wiper going - it doesn't go out in the rain [photos show it to be just-washed]. A few of the handles could use re-chroming. We are in a space crunch, so the car must go. A video of the car starting and running is at http://youtu.be/B8L6nfbk3dQ --- Offered as a collector item with no guarantees. Clear Oregon title, currently licensed. Ask any questions early enough that I can get you an answer quickly. Buyer is responsible for shipping and all arrangements and costs associated with shipping but I will do what I can to meet the shipper and see the car off safely. NO reserve!!!On Apr-06-13 at 09:34:02 PDT, seller added the following information:A viewer has asked about the front bumper. Standard Buicks of this period did not come with one, nor did many other cars.
