Vehicle Detail
Up for auction is my personal 1941 Ford pickup that I have owned since 2000. It was a rust free solid running truck that I bought out of Wyoming. Being a farmer I drove it around the farm on occasion until I started a complete and total redo in about 2005. I finished it about 2 years ago, and entered it in the GSTA’s (Gopher State Timing Assn.) 56th Annual Rod and Custom Spectacular; it’s the largest indoor car show in the Minneapolis/St. Paul area. Out of a field of about 15 custom trucks I placed first. I funded the 5 year build with the sale of my 40 Deluxe Coupe. Which when I sold it I immediately bought the parts I considered to be the best available for my pickup build. Now for the build, as I mentioned before I purchased the truck as a clean, solid runner out of Wyoming. When it was torn down it had very clean, straight rust free and pit free original frame which I boxed in the front and rear and installed Chassis Eng. leaf spring kit in the rear and a Heidt’s Mustang II independent front cross member in the front, it was further modified with a Chassis Eng. cross member conversion for an auto transmission. The front end was outfitted with narrowed tubular A-frames with deluxe 11 inch disc brakes from Heidt’s along with power rack and pinion steering. The drive train consists of a totally rebuilt 67 Chevrolet 327 with double hump heads, 2.02 Valves & Roller rockers, a 69 Z-28 aluminum intake, 650 Holley double pump carb, Mallory unilite ignition, chromed and painted Corvette valve covers, and a 63 Corvette air cleaner. It is cooled by a Walker radiator. This runs into a rebuilt turbo 350 trans. with a mild shift kit and finally into a 67 Chev. Nova 10-bolt posi with 3.08 gears. The body is pretty much as Henry designed it except for the 39 Ford Deluxe headlights, 40 Ford Deluxe dash and Model A taillights. The gas tank is a poly from Tank’s with a flip fill cap in the bed which is varnished walnut with polished stainless strips. The interior is setup with a 40 Ford Deluxe dash with all the original trim, and a Haneline dash insert. The windshield garness molding is chrome as are the accents around the door. It has a Lokar nostalgia swan shifter, an Ididit column and a 40 steering wheel. The glass has a 60’s muscle car green tint. The truck has Vintage A/C, heat and defrosts. The upholstery is an ol-skool red tuck and roll. It is also equipped with New Port Engineering windshield wipers. Other incidentals include inside tailgate latches on a 40 V-8 tailgate, Mr. 40’s fat stuff louvered inner fender panels, and gennie 15 inch rims with 5 inches in front with Firestone 185-65 radials, and 8 inches of rim in the back with 235-75 Firestone radials, and 40 Ford hubcaps and trim rings. The exhaust consists of ram’s horns, aluminized 2 ½’ pipes run thru stainless glass packs that dump in front of the rear end. It sounds “great”. The pin striping was done by “Lenny” at Krazy Kolors. Well I think that covers about everything. If you can think of anything else give me a call at 507-456-2957. By the way the truck has about 350 test miles on it and drives like a dream and runs real strong. Good luck bidding
