Vehicle Detail

I am not an auto guru or restorer. Just a person who has always wanted to have a beautiful antique car. So when I went looking for a historic car I needed one that did not need any repairs. I found a gem. This IS my dream car. I bought it and have loved it. It was beautiful when I bought it and it is still a beauty. I am downsizing and just do not have a place for it anymore. Sad but true. So, here is your chance to get a dream. The car is dark blue and has a finish you can dive into. It glows. There are a couple of rough spots but they are in the very, very small millimeter size range. The car was professionally painted by the second owner. They said that there was absolutely no bondo used. The car is virtually rust free with no major dents or defects. The chrome is original and has a few rough spots but really excellent overall. The interior is new vinyl. The windshield wipers are vacuum assist and work. The original radio is in place but was disconnected to hook up an am/fm cassette player. Extra speakers were added as well as a power antenna. The original clock is in place but it does not work. The car drives beautifully. I would say as well as it did when new. The heater works. No air conditioning as that was not available in 1948 (that's why they had windows!). The windows all work except one small side vent is pretty stiff. The interior dash is the original wood grain paint. Original tool kit and jack are in the trunk. There is also a very rare under hood courtesy light. It has both original 6volt and 12 volt systems for electrical. All interior lights, dome light, glove box light, back up light, gauges, speedometer, odometer work as they should. Brakes were redone by second owner and still are very good. The car is virtually rust free with no major dents or defects. Hood ornaments, lettering, moldings are all in excellent condition--most original. It has the original drive train 216 C.I. 6 cylinder with 3 speed on the column vacuum assisted shift. It also has a wolf whistle horn and siren. It has neon blue undercarriage lights which look pretty fun at night. It also has auxillary yellow fog lights and side searchlights. The rearview mirror is original but has quite a few blemishes in the glass but still usable. The car has a cool visor AND a Fulton stoplight prism so you can see traffic lights with the windshield visor down. The interior was completely, professionally redone in off-white vinyl with matching blue piping and is in excellent condition. No cracks. No tears. No stains. Stereo install was professional too. Whitewall tires are in very good shape. The car has always been in a garage. I am the 4th owner. The original owner quit driving it in 1967 and it stayed parked in her garage until she passed away. The car was bought by the second owner in 1994 with 26,700 miles on it. It now has slightly under 30,000 miles. It was originally in Wisconsin, then Illinois, Tennessee and now Missouri. The person that I bought it from said that the mileage was true miles. I only have his word but the car looks and feels as if that was true. I am not a dealer but I have seen historic car dealers sell similar vehicles for well into the upper $20k and lower $30k range. Payment would need to be in cash or bank check at delivery. I will not ship. You will need to arrange for pickup or shipping. The furthest distance I have driven it was 30 miles which it did with absolutely no problems. It could probably be driven cross country but I have not tried that. This is NOT a fixer upper. It is beautiful as is!
