Vehicle Detail

Spectacular 1966 Jaguar S Type with complete sympathetic restoration and smart modern modifications. This is a one of a kind Euro Street Rod. This is not your Grampys car. Definately one of a kind and a real head turner. Start with a classic Jaguar salon car design that has been dubbed the "sleeper" in the Jag lineup. only around 7500 of this model made. It is the culmination of Jag design in the 60's, taking and refining the Mk1 and MK11 that came before it It is the Four door version of the iconic E Type. Hook these great looks onto a very ridged frame and the fab E Type rear end with the inboard brakes and then plug in the custom build Chev small block 350 and this cat runs great, sound awesome, and looks even better. Originally restored/built by Rod at Arizona Street Rods in Phoenix AZ 2000 - 2001. total cost of over $160,000 Can$ (receipts provided) it has passed thru two owners to me 6 years ago. Approximately 6000 Km / 5400 miles since the rebuild. Current apprasal and insured value is $40K. This is really very good value but I appreciate the limited market for a modified car and am prepared to take the loss to move on to other projects. The car was restored to original spec visually except Custom louvered hood in the style of the original XK 's and the Jag racing teams. 120 perfectly cut louvers in four rows (cost $100per louver) note an original hood can easily be obtained if new owner wishes to convert back top the original look. The rear wheels have recenty had the "Combes conversion" named after the company in England that did this job back in the day. It opened up the rear wheel arch so the tyre could be removed in case of flat . A very common job, it also corrected the one weak spot in the original design. Lowered a couple inches in the rear, New Dayton Triple Cross, 72 spoke, Knock off wire wheels ($2500) with four tubeless Goodyear tires with less than 4000 Km on them Up front there is a set of reproduction Tripod PL400 headlights and a set of original Lucas Fog Ranger spotlights (working order but not wired up) two custom made sterling silver badges on the front doors marking this car as a 5.4 liter Special. A very classy touch and shows no detail was too small for this car . Please note the three local car club badges will be removed. Inside there is a modern three point seatbelt draped over a full set of NEW English Connolly leather seats, refinished burl walnut dash and door caps, new headliner all the glass and chrome is in excellent shape, a full set of new VDO gauges compliment the original Smiths gauges with oil pressure and temp, water temp, speedo, tach, amps, and even transmission temps, new clock, and a very cold Vintage Air AC unit. cassette radio with remote control and removable faceplate. Original push to start button is not hooked up as it starts with key. I have installed a flashing red light switched by the unneeded speed control switch to look like an alarm system. (note there is not an alarm) Completely new wiring harness, relays and fuse panel from scratch.. Under the hood WOW the 350 with oversize valves, competition cam, headers, flow thru twin pipes , two custom made radiators on elecric fans (second one is in left front wheel well) Edelbrock four barrel carbs fed from the two rear gas tanks with seperate fuel pumps. New servo for power brakes last year. New Wiper motor. everything works except the original clock even the glove box light and door lights work. It was run on a mobile Dyno with rear wheels at 365 HP = 425HP at the crank (the testsheet that shows this was lost at a car show a couple years back) AC belt is show off in the photos but works 100% -very cold. OK so it is not perfect and has a couple small paint bubbles and scratches but I have a couple liters of the original paint to go with the car. Last fall it was starting to be difficult to start when the engine is really really really hot. It is the starter motor binding and will be shimmed out in the spring when out of storage. Note there is no back up light as the rear trunk mounted light was convered to a Third brake light with twin red LED bulbs . There is a wire in the trunk for the back up light if wanted. Underneath out of sight there is minor surface rust scattered around as it has been ten years since restoration. Always garage parked and covered since restoration. An awesome car to drive and fun to own but I must sell to make room for a fleet of (actually 5) barn find cars I hope to bring home this spring and my first love the 61 MGA 1600 needs some $$$ work so need cash now. Hope this is of interest to somebody. I had it for sale last week so this is the second listing. There were over 2000 page hits and nearly 100 had it on the watch list. I dropped the already low "buy it now" price by $1500 and will start the bidding same as last time and have a very low reserve as I do want it sold. Not just testing the waters I do want to sell it . I have a truck and enclosed trailer so delivery can be worked out to eastern Canada and New England very easily. Car can be viewed anytime with limited access as it is in storage with removal in early April. As for crossing the border to take it back to USA. I used A.N Derringer in Calais Maine as broker a few years back. They made quick work of the paperwork and $250 fee and I crossed the border in 15 minutes with another car into the states. as the car is more than 25 years old it is excempt from most all the issues. Selling with usual collection of books and background material one collects over the years, some extra leather, paint, wire wheel spokes, a glove box manual, The original tool kit alone is worth $800 to $1000 on resell market. non smoker car . I would like $4000 deposit by paypal in three days with balance on delivery and I would entertain interesting British car trades as long as I have $10,000 cash minimum plus a very nice road ready car. If you have a spare MG T series, or nice early sedan, almost anything, let me know. and the usual bla bla bla about for sale locally and reserve the right to remove it at any time or sell it off Ebay bla bla bla.........:) HI ALL I HAVE HAD A COUPLE QUESTIONS ABOUT PAYMENT. I WOULD LIKE $4000 BY PAYPAL WITHIN THREE DAYS AND FINAL PAYMENT WHEN THE CAR IS PICKED UP OR DELIVERED TO A CARRIER. IT WILL BE AVAILABLE FOR PICKUP IN FOUR TO FIVE WEEKS ONCE I AM ABLE TO MOVE IT OUT OF STORAGE (APRIL 10TH??) IF YOU ARE PICKING THE CAR UP I CAN OFFER A PLACE TO STAY FOR A DAY OR TWO. IF THE CAR IS BEING DELIVERD BY ME TO A DROP OFF POINT I WILL COVER SOME OF THE COSTS SUCH AS MY GAS WITHIN REASON. HAPPY BIDDING.
