Description: This is a one of kind Garagistic test mule e30 bmw for auction. It is powered by a 4.0 liter v8 from a 740il. 6 speed transmission from a 540i. Clean title in my name. Car is veeeryyy fast. Making close to 300hp with the unmodifed engine so its reliable too! Only weights 2800lbs. Can be made lighter because no effort to save weight was made. 6 Speed makes highway driving fantastic. Its daily driver friendly: Power steering, soft power assist brakes, not too firm, and extremely quiet exhaust. Car is an extreme sleeper. There is nothing on the outside to give away the fury under the the hood. Paint is original (7 out of 10), there are small dings and dents. Like every other e30 on the planet, the front two fenders have dents in them. Interior is a 6 out of 10. Cosmetics could use some attention, but shes got it where it counts, under the hood.Car is at a point where it can be turned into whatever you want. Keep as a daily driver (what it is now), super e30 that pulls track duty, a gutted drift car, autocross, a dedicated track car, a show car, anything. The hard part is done and the car runs great. The car does everything really well. Its not a show car, not even close, its a full function over form car. Car is running redline race oil ($$$$), redline syncromesh trans fluid (works awesome when warm), redline diff fluid. The car is also running water + 10% coolant + redline water weter in the cooling system. This is the best combo we found and it never overheats (even during track events but we use the factory overide switch and keep the spal running on the track the whole time). All maintenance was done on m60 v8 before it was swapped into the e30. Some of the maintenance items that were done are; Oil pan gasket, water pump, thermostat, thottle body gasket, new ccv, new ccv gasket, intake manifold gasket, runner tubes under the manifold, new trans guibo, all new belts up front, new e34 throwout bearing, JB racing lightweight flywheel, new knock sensors, rebuild (from rack dr) e46 steering rack, new e36 tierods, list goes on! Come see the car in person! Car is not perfect but is an absolute blast to drive. It is currently a daily driver. about 250k on chasis, and about 60k on engine. Engine is an alusil block on a car that only had 110k so this engine is great!!!! Car is run on redline race oil, , redline diff fluid and syncromesh transmission fluid. Car was recently "smogged" and is still good for CA bidders for the sale (within the 3 month period so no need to resmog). The car has been setup to be legalized but has not been. The fabrication modifications alone to relocate everything for a v8 and make a bigger radiator are over 3k alone! This car cannot be replicated for this price! All the major work is done for you! This car is great because you can work as little or as much as you want to it. It can be driven as is, or improved. Car has done BMW CCA autox events and track events and is absolutely epic! Very predictable, tons of power, rear can be kicked out on call and brought back with ease!Things that can be improved (and reserve price is adjusted already based on these things)- Driver seat is beat up/interior could use some work (see pictures)- Body paint is original/a few dings and dents/front bumper (outside is a 7 out of 10)- 4th gear synco is a little worn, shifts fine slow, but doesn't do well with quick shifts into 4th- Different size brake cylinder, lots of travel/soft brake pedal because of small brake cylinder size, a bigger bore will make a firmer pedal. We tracked it like that and it wasnt a big deal but something to take note of.- CEL on because its looking for evap canistor (doesnt have one)- Front signals blink fastThings to note about this car:- If you have driven a car with a lightweight flywheel, you will know, that they are very noisy. This is the nature of a lightweight flywheel. The flywheel on this car is no diffrent, even the makers (JB), note this in the link to the flywheel. History: This power plant is bmws powerful m60 (came in 540i, 740i). This particular engine came out of a 94 740i. The donor car had 100k but engine is an alusil block which means there is about 50k-70k on the engine. A 6 speed was taken from an e34 to be put behind this engine. This car was our test mule to develop the m6x swap kits. It wrote the book: M6x swap guide. As you can see TONS of work has gone into this car! The actual chasis started out as an automatic 325i bought from an enthusiast in San deigo. Car has been in so cal ever since. Conversion took about 1 year and has been pulling daily driver duty with occasional track/autox events ever since. Its been super reliable and a blast to drive.
