Vehicle Detail
A few months ago I was clearing an estate and took possession of this 1974 Triumph Bonneville. I quickly applied for title and have it now free and clear. The Motorcycle comes from a climate controlled building that was dry, and has preserved it fairly well. We got eight bikes in all of which none had been registered since 1992. This leads me to conclude that they have been there at least that long. I dont have much knowledge on any motorcycles this old so I am leaving the bid at no reserve and the high bidder will own it. Check the photos well as I paid for upgrade as this will be your best way of assessing value. When we got it home I ran out and bought a new battery, gave it fresh fuel and checked the air pressure in the tires. We towed it behind the pick up and it started right away. We then ran it up and down the street for 30 minutes or so taking turns and enjoying the great sound of the Triumph. First one I have ever had. The mirrors will come in a box on the side as the hole they screw into were a little loose so I just left them off. One rear turn signal housing is broke so I bought a pair of correct lucus complete housing and lense sets. also in the spare parts box. After you do repair you will still have one complete extra and two extra lenses. I broke the petcock on the left side by forcing it the wrong way as it was the opposite of my bike and i did it by habit. I bought two new reproduction petcocks that are correct and ready to install. The condition is very nice for a bike that has sat. Throttle, brakes and cables all working just as they should. There is some surface rust mostly towards the rear. The tail light housing, the rear springs, and the brake disks are the worst but they are still not that bad. (see pictures) Front tire at 50% tread and the rear has a little less. The paint is really nice with great colors and a few very small chips. The seat is great, all the gauges work. All the lights work. This is a great project for someone as it allready runs. I would say change all fluids, clean carbs at it will be ready to go. I have clear title in my name. SHIPPING: will not happen till funds have cleared. You will be responcible for all expences and arrangments of shipping. I will drop it off and any shipping depot you wish within 50 miles of Portland Oregon area. This should save you some money instead of picking up at my addy. It ways about 525 pounds. Payment by Paypal. Could possible arrange delivery north up Hwy 5 as far as Everrett as I go there often on Business. Bike still must be paid for up front. LOCAL PICK UP WELCOME, presale inspection welcome. On Mar-02-13 at 09:17:01 PST, seller added the following information:I wanted to make sure to ask folks to read the attached emails as just about everyone feels this bike is a 78 or 79. I titled it as a 74 but this can be corrected as you register it in to your name. Thanks, and good luck to eveyone. David
