Vehicle Detail
This is a vintage 1936 Panel that is completely original excluding the wheels and the seats. The body is smooth and strong having only 4 small locations of rust through - on both corners of the lower rear-end (see photos) and on the bottom of both sides of the truck (see photos). There are photos of every surface of the vehicle, i.e.fenders, doors, hood, windshield, etc., including the under carriage. The glass is all good, excluding the right rear door window pane is cracked. The right door window rolls up and down perfectly and the driver's door will roll up about 3/4 of the way before needing assistance. The windshield still cranks out from the bottom for air circulation and the hood vent in front of windshield still works. There is a side wheel mount in the right front fender. The interior portion of the roof on the humpback is a soft-top, but needs to be replaced while restoring. This truck has some unique features such as a bracket on the bottom of the front bumper to place the hand crank through to start the engine, if needed, or wanted. Then on the grill, in the same area, is an opening for the crank to go through to the engine. Note: at this point in the grill it has been broken but the chrome shop said that it can be repaired during rechroming. Then at the top of the grill is the Art Deco designed charging mountain sheep ram, as the hood ornament. This is the original without ANY damage, especially the small tips of his horns. The crowning feature is the two rack mounts on the roof of the panel. These appear to have been fabricated at the time of its purchase, due to its appearance that they been created by a craftsman blacksmith - this can be seen in the construction of the tie-down hooks. Two unique features in the interior is the presence of two dome lights in the cargo area, one in the center of the roof and one at the back door and the switch is on from the right pillar of the passenger door. The second interesting engineering oddity is that the tail/brake lights are powered from the door frame to the body frame by two brass plungers striking two plates to complete the electrical circuit. 1936 Dodge Humpback Delivery Panel was built at the Dodge Plant in Los Angeles, California on approximately October 1936. It was the 1,064th from the last one built in December 1936 - out of 5,882 produced from November 1935 to December 1936 at that location. This compared to 50,801 produced in Michgan. THIS IS A RARE TRUCK !!! I purchased the truck in 1966 in Fort Collins, Colorado. It has been garaged for the last 45 years. She was running perfectly in 1977, but that was the last time we had the pleasure of driving her. Note: I took my wife to the hospital February 7th, 1970 to give birth to my daughter - this is a California built truck, it has no heater! : ) Buyer is responsible for vehicle pick up or shipping. Seller will be there to assist with loading and extra precautions in protecting some of the original features during shipment. Requirement: Buyer must share pictures of restored beauty : ) pretty please
