GREAT DEAL FOR EBAY !!!!!!!!Up for sale is a very nice 1960 Chevy Corvair 700 four door sedan. This is the first year of production, making it a nice collectible, unique treasure only to increase in value with time. I know much of the history of it's life from the early 1980s, ( I have all the receipts, and lots of e-mails regarding this car)in the 80s it was purchased in Virginia by a private investigator ,for his wife.In 2003 it had roughly $6,000 worth of work done to it.( all at the "Corvair Ranch" Including, all the brake system, many bushings, the motor was completely rebuilt, the heads were re-done with hardened valve seats for use with Unleaded gas. It had some body work done and paint.. again, I have ALL the Receipts .And from e-mails that I have read ( they will be with all receipts) it was determined that the 40,000 something miles was original, from the amount of, (or lack of) wear on the mechanical parts. It was not driven much since 2003. For some reason ( due to health I'm guessing) the car was donated to a local cancer society. Not sure how long it sat , or where, but it was sold at an auction in 2010 still with 40,000 something miles on it. I bought it from the man who bought it at the auction, ( He is an auto painter by trade) it ran AWESOME ( it still does) but the body showed a good bit of surface rust. After he purchased the car, he did not like sitting so low and it was hard for him to get in and out of ( he is well over 6' tall) and has bad knees. He also had other "projects" in the works and the Corvair took a back seat. He noticed the surface rust getting worse , so to save it from further damage he lightly sanded ,and cleaned , primed, and put 2 heavy coats of "ford blue" with a high gloss hardener ( very close to the original color) The paint job is great, in fact at 5 feet it's beautiful. It is nice enough to win at a car show, up against street rods worth upwards of $50,000.. The interior is clean. Great condition. The headliner is Brand new .It has the original Gas fired heater, it works great , and has very hard to come by " fender skirts" and original hubcaps, and beauty rings, the tires are very good condition steel belted radials.. the car is VERY nice and very dependable, I would feel safe driving it several hundred miles. It is loved by all ages, you won't be able to drive it without someone asking Questions, or giving you thumbs up. . . OH AND . . . it does have an AM /FM C-D player ipod ready under dash. . . THE ONLY rust I have found is about a 6" circle on the floor (passenger side ) IT HAS BEEN REPAIRED, and a small amount in driver side rear wheel well IT HAS BEEN REPAIRED with metal welded in. Contact me with any other Questions.Call Mike at 217-415-2433. Have clear title in hand!! $500 Deposit due at end of auction. Balance due 48 hours of auction ending. Prefer bank wire transfer or cash at pick up or Paypal. THIS IS A NO RESERVE AUCTION AND WILL BE SOLD TO THE HIGHEST BIDDER. See my other auction for another one of my classics for sale. Thanks for looking and happy bidding. On Feb-22-13 at 05:23:29 PST, seller added the following information: THE ENGINE IS HORIZONTALLY OPPOSED AND IT IS REAR WHEEL DRIVE.
