Up for sale is my 1970 CB450 Police Special Honda Motorcycle. In 1967 Honda imported 25 of these bikes to sell to local police departments to break into a market controlled by Harley Davidson and others. This bike was one of two sold to Arlington Police Department. A friend of my father in law bought both bikes (one is in a scrap heap) and sold one to him. I ended up with it in the late seventies and rode it off and on till 1983 when I put it into dry storage in my basement. So its been in the family since 1971. It has always been out of the elements and well taken care of. After installing 2 new spark plugs, changing the oil, and installing a new battery it fired up and drove it into the garage. The carbs could use a going through (I have 2 new kits to go with the bike) and some tuning, but does start, run and goes through the gears like it did in 1983.This is a used bike with 19k miles on it-no warranty implied or expressed. This a great canidate for restoration as everything is original except the windshield glass. The windshield frame is original. Thanks.On Feb-14-13 at 09:29:24 PST, seller added the following information: After a visit to the DMV this am and obtaining a new Virginia title the mileage is showing not actual miles because the 1991 Maryland title had the incorrect miles. I am not going to pursue a correction to the title but need to disclose this to anyone interested or bidding. Thank you.
