1978 FORD FAIRMONT FUTURA This is an original Colorado Ford Futura that was babied every day of its garaged life. The original creme paint still shines with the normal small chips associated with Colorado roads. All panels are original to the car with no rust or rust repairs. The only small dent is at the belt line near the left rear bumper. All stainless trim is bright and straight with the exception of some wheel well trim that has minor dents. The gold vinyl roof is in great shape with no cracks just minor sun fading and no rust bubbles under it. The creme deluxe bench seat interior with center arm rest is in very good condition, there are 2 small cracks in the seats that I have included pictures of. All door panels, package tray, sun visors, dash, dash parts and plastic trim are solid with no cracking or fading, the headliner is clean with no sagging. Its clean shag carpet shows minimal wear, the trunk carpet appears unused. All lights including dash, dome, dual maps, ash tray, parking, headlights high and low, blinkers, flashers, trunk, and engine compartment function properly. All jacking parts are intact for the spare tire. Window and trunk rubber gaskets are soft with no cracks, all window felts are good. The tinted glass and windshield are original to the car with no scratches, both windows operate smooth. This is a A/C car but it is not working. All other functions of the heater, vents, defroster, and rear defroster work properly. The dual speed wipers with washers operate smooth. The horn blows loud, front and rear speakers work along with the factory am 8 track. All gauges and idiot lights work, ok the clock does not work you got me there! The odometer shows 19K so I assume its been rolled but with a fresh Jasper 200 CI straight 6 motor backed by a column mounted 3 speed C4 automatic she starts and runs out smooth. Braking is by power disc/ drum that stop straight every time. Parts are easy to find as these are Fox bodies. I upgraded the original 14" white wall tires to 15" Mustang 10 hole aluminum rims with new Fusion Touring 215-60-15 black wall tires, these completely changed the looks and ride of the Futura. This reliable Futura is clean, solid, fuel efficient,runs great and turns heads everywhere it goes. Had enough of Camaros and Mustangs? Dare too be different.
