Vehicle Detail

I've had for about 6 months ago and reluctantly need something more practical. I've done quite a bit of research before and after I purchased the car.The best I can make of it is that the car was found in a shed in Minnesota about ten years where it sat most of its life. It had a 265 Cevy V8 in it when it was found, and it still has it. The paint is as found as well. It is not a faux patina job.The car was previously owned by COOP and Bob Bleed. She's been around. :)This is an original old Hot Rod. 50s era.1955 265 Chevy small block in it. This is the first year small block Chevy, sans oil filter mount. The motor was bolted in using a Hurst front motor mount and a Cragar transmission adapter. I installed new rubber pads on the front mount and a new mount at the transmission. The motor has a new timing chain, gaskets, clutch, pressure plate and surfaced flywheel. The pressure plate and flywheel were balanced together work done by Ron Lindvig at Lindvig Machine in Medford, OR.Bubba's Speed shop in Indy, restored the Mallory dual point distributor a few months ago.At idle 20 psi, at 1,500 RPM about 55 psi oil pressure.Little bit of lifter noise from one of the lifters.I do not know if the motor has ever been rebuilt or not. I've had the oil pan and intake off, everything looks good and felt tightWhen the motor and trans were out I repainted them with Dupli-Color Hi-Temp. engine enamel.Exhaust manifolds were coated with header paint as well.It runs an Edelbrock 355 intake with 3 Stromberg 97 carbs. New Stromberg progressive linkage and Stromberg Deluxe rebuild kits in the carbs. New Holley low-pressure fuel pressure regulator. The exhaust was done 6 months ago, 2" all the way back with Cherry Bombs. Sounds nice.12V negative ground system.Fresh rebuilt generator, new Napa battery, and new voltage regulator. These were installed last week. Charging system is in good working order. The generator had died but I didn't figure it out until after I replaced the battery and volt. reg. Oh well, it's all new now.The main leaves on the springs are Posies with the reverse eye.The rest of the drivetrain is the original Ford equipment. New shackles and bushings on the front spring, NOS perches spring installed too.3.78 geared banjo reared. Smooth and quiet, no whining or grinding.'46 Ford column shift 3 speed transmission which was rebuilt 4 months ago with a NOS main cluster. It retains the stock gearing.Original Ford shocks, front and rear which still work fine. New linkages.Original front axle, which was dropped 1.5 inches.Ford 16" wheels with Firestone 16x6.00" tires up front and 16x7.50" tires in back. Tires are 75-80%. Very good shape, no sidewall scrapes, cuts, etc. It comes with the wheels and tires that are pictured without hub caps. Not the wheels and tires in the Bonneville pics. The hub caps are included. Original old Moon fuel pressure gauge, aftermarket other gauges. The oil pressure gauge and the gas gauge both are off on the readings. The speedo works good and is accurate within a couple mph.The wiring is a newer job. The blinker switch is there but is not hooked up.The heater and wipers work fine.Runs cool in the summer. The body is really solid. It does have some rust through on the front fenders, visible in the pics, and the left rear fender by the truck lib. The rockers have a couple rust hole on each side. A little rust in the floor of the trunk too. Couple dings in the body, nothing bad. The roof is nice and straight. The doors are solid, straight, and close nicely with a firm push, not a slam. All glass is good except the drivers side window is cracked and a spot on the windshield. One of the rear windows does not roll down, don't remember which one.I have the bows for the headliner, no inner panels. It comes with a custom fit car cover.I've driven it to and from Portland which is a 600 mile round trip. 2000 mile vacation, daily, etc...It's a great driver, steers nice and predictably, one handed even, brakes smooth and evenly. Has great acceleration. Cruises 65 mph no problem. Comfortable. The last couple pics show the car with bumper guards and a tow hitch. Those are no longer on the car. Those pictures were taken by the previous owner before they were removed. They are nice pictures so I figured they should be included. Not sure what else to say. Possible partial trades; truck, 80s Toyota pickup, 90s Jeep Cherokee XJ, Datsun 510, WRX, van, ???whogary@yahoo.com if you have questions. On Feb-02-13 at 08:55:18 PST, seller added the following information: The spare tire pictured in the trunk does NOT go with the car. It does have a good spare though. It's a "16 Ford wheel and bias ply snow tire.Id have a new rear window seal to go with the car. IF the car sells at the "Buy it Now" price I will throw in the set of 15"/16" Ford wheels, and tires. They are the ones in the Salt Flats pictures.
