Vehicle Detail

0 0 1 957 5461 Me 45 12 6406 14.0 Normal 0 false false false EN-US JA X-NONE Presented for your consideration is the seventh HJ47 ever made, and probably the oldest surviving example of Toyota’s classic Troop Carrier Land Cruiser line. This HJ47 has the unique VIN of HJ47000007. Considering that Toyota usually kept assembly line examples #1, #2 and #3 for company purposes, this is possibly the 4th oldest example and with attrition over time this is quite possibly the earliest HJ47 left on earth. I have owned this rugged truck since 2007 when I bought it from a retired Toyota of Australia executive and it has been great. Built for use on expeditions, it is equipped with the dependable 4.0L, inline 6-cylinder 2H diesel engine (18 mpg) with only 200896 miles, the Toyota H55F 5-speed transmission lets you run at 70mph all day effortlessly on the freeway, AND it has all-Toyota power steering (not Saginaw), which is absolutely beautiful to have on or off-road—and supremely rare to find on an HJ47. The engine runs great once warmed up. When cold it’ll cough and stumble, put out a good cloud of white smoke, then the smoke clears once it warms up. Once fully warm no white smoke comes out, she purrs like a kitten and idles/drives smooth. The excellent H55F 5-speed manual transmission shifts cleanly in all gears and has the factory granny super low first gear. I’ve built her for daily driving and expeditions, and it has been showcased over multiple issues of the build in 4WD Toyota Owner Magazine for all you Land Cruiser and Toyota fans out there. Check out this publication if you are into Land Cruisers! It’s got a Safari Snorkel for water crossings, Hi-Lift jack with super cool locking FJ Mount, 2.5” lift Old Man Emu springs and shocks, Hanson front bumper with a mighty 12,000-lb Warn Endurance winch, and a custom rear Perkins Performance bumper with dual swing away arms, one holding the spare tire, the other holds two 5.3-gallon NATO-style jerry cans. Plus the outboard side of the jerry can holder is designed to mount a PowerTank compressed air 10-lb tank holder (not included; you can see it in the expedition photo). The diesel jerry can shown is a genuine NATO military steel can. Yes! The Hi-Lift and jerry can are included with the truck! Locking differentials FRONT AND REAR with Aussie Lockers for awesome offroad traction. They’re auto lockers so they occasionally thump around corners at slow speed on pavement, but off-road, they power this rig through anything. And they’re Australian, made to work with this truck. Factory full floater rear axle (US got semi-floaters), left side weeps oil, needs new seal, which I have (OEM Toyota) and will include.Rear side windows are all slide open style, unlike US-spec 40-series. And how about the great triangular vent windows up front! No US 40s got that either. Front disc brakes, rear drum. Rust is showing up here and there in the body panels, B-pillars and where roof meets body. To stop water seepage I’ve siliconed the roofline corners. To me the rust is typical for an offroad truck of this vintage and nothing major, I hardly notice it, I live in wet Washington after all, but I mention it and include photos so the buyer can make his own determination. Floorboards are solid. Frame is great. Correct JDM Koito headlights. Antenna cable for CB in place, antenna mounts front left side. (CB not included).Original rear heater.New Odyssey battery. Australian ROH Trak 15” wheels with 33” mud terrain tires at 40%. 33” spare is worn but works fine. If you would prefer 85% 31” Pro Comp mud terrains on 15” Aussie Cheviot rims I can swap out if buyer covers the cost at the tire shop. High quality detachable face marine-grade (built for boats) Sony CDX-M60UI stereo chosen for optimum water and dust resistance, Kenwood dual 10” powered 150W subwoofer, external 100W amplifier, and two 6x9 Pioneer speakers in boxes. The Sony CD player/head unit has an iPod digital port cable attached (not the weak 1/8” headphone plug cable, but the proper bottom charging port digital cable) and ready for use, plus a front AUX cable input. The truck rocks on or off-road; no point in going on road trips or overland without good tunes! Headliner is ok, has tape repaired cuts in it due to installing thick sound deadening material from Boom-Mat under the headliner, so it’s actually pretty nice for driving. Ditto for front floorboards, three layers of Boom-Mat (anti-heat, anti-sound) plus carpeting keeps things quite tolerable in the cabin. An additional aftermarket vinyl floor mat from No Bull Accessories in Australia will be included with the truck. Rear cargo area floor has a mix of carpet and vinyl mat. Original heat proofing material underside of hood. Custom wood rear storage box with three separate compartments, each has own lid, carpeted on top. Custom rear side benches are made of rich red Australian eucalyptus wood and came with the truck. They are really solid, well built and unique. The box is designed to be level with the benches to make a wide sleeping area in back; it’s similar to a king size bed in width! She’s a good old rig, driven daily, not a show queen, has her warts and minor problems but needs very little save a tuneup, minor fixes and some rust spot repair if desired. She’s already well equipped for offroad adventure with rugged, dependable parts, plus the jerry can/12,000-lb Warn winch/lockers/power steering and the H55F 5-speed. Photo shows the truck summer 2012 on expedition in southeast Oregon (Steens Mountains, not sold with all parts shown in those photos) as seen in 4WD Toyota Owner magazine, Jan/Feb 2013 issue. She ran great from start to finish. Good fuel economy from the diesel too. And there’s just something awesome about having Troopy #7! Clear title from Washington state. Titled as a diesel so no problems for California buyers and no smogging required. Sold “as is” with no expressed or implied warranties. I’ve done my best to describe her and may have left something out, feel free to email with questions. Test drives and inspections are welcome and expected, call a local shop in Gig Harbor and I will drive it there for you. Happy to meet in Gig Harbor, Washington (the local Home Depot parking lot is convenient for transport trucks), or can drive the truck to a depot in Tacoma. Zero or negative feedback bidders MUST CONTACT ME PRIOR TO BIDDING or your bids may be canceled. License plates stay with seller. Payment within five business days by cash or cashiers check only, sorry no personal checks, money orders or PayPal. If paying via cashiers check the truck and title will ship upon confirmation of funds (usually same day). Happy to hold the truck for a week or two so transport or a flight in can be arranged. This is a no reserve auction, first winning bid has it. It's a great truck and a unique one too, ready for adventures as a Land Cruiser should. Check my feedback and bid with confidence. Thank you!
