Well, it's time to reluctantly let my baby go. Restored burgundy 1978 280Z coupe in superb condition. Has been garage-kept since 2008 and lovingly maintained. Fully rebuilt L28 engine with approximately 27,000 miles on the rebuild with new Nissan OEM fuel injectors. New starter, alternator, fuel pressure regulator Many other new parts including clutch, AFM, starter, alternator, wheel bearings, brakes, wheel cylinders, struts, full kit of new polyurethane bushings Gas tank was fully reconditioned 5-speed transmission still shifts great but there is a little bearing noise Fully working OEM Hitachi AM/FM stereo radio More desirable and rare rear window louvers that mount underneath the rear window seal New carpet and soundproofing Floorboards and every interior piece of sheet metal I could reach were treated with POR-15 Repainted 2 years ago in the original Nissan 618 Wine Red Metallic color with all new emblems, seals and gaskets Original OEM antenna is still fully functional except the antenna switch could use some cleaner All gauges work including the clock, which still keeps great time. Upgraded with Motorsport brighter dash bulbs Working factory A/C that blows 42 degrees cold Heater works great New heater control valve Interior is excellent condition with new console, headliner, working dome light, door panels are almost like new and still have 95% of the plastic chrome trim Full face dash cover The vinyl basketweave seat covers are 100% original and in overall excellent condition. The foam in the driver's seat and back was replaced and feels like new. Black Pearl sport mirrors Yokohama Avid tires still have a lot of tread left There is one small rust spot visible from underneath on the passenger side floorboard, a few bubbles on the hatch lid and a small amount of rust starting at the rear wheel wells. Like most classic Z cars, the rear window defroster grids need attention. I had her fully inspected by Awesome Z on November 3, 2012 who reported the following issues: slight leak from the oil pan plug and gasket, slight seepage at the valve cover, V belts should be replaced soon, fan blade has a crack, wiper blades will need replacing soon, could use a hot valve adjustment, slight seepage at shifter, rear axle bearing has a slight amount of play, small amount of coolant electrolysis buildup at the thermostat housing, slight fuel loss at the pump and tank, oil pressure switch needs attention, needs a fan shroud screw, dash cover impedes smooth operation of the dash dimmer and trip odometer rest buttons, and the air mix door could use adjustment as cool air sometimes blows through the vents along with hot air from the heater. The trip odometer cable is stuck but I will include a spare cable as well as many extra parts. I have driven her almost daily for the last 2 years and always get compliments and thumbs up. She's always been extremely reliable. The engine is nicely broken in and she really runs and handles great. Regular oil changes with Castrol motor oil. I have driven her like a Z car wants to be driven but have never ever abused her. She has been well maintained by several excellent Z car mechanics, including Awesome Z here in Houston. It has been a wonderful ride and, as you can tell from all the work I've put into her, I intended to keep her forever. However, my personal situation has recently changed and I need to pass her on to someone who will love and care for her, and keep her on the road for the next 30 years or more.
