Vehicle Detail

1970 TRIUMPH TROPHY 250 TR25W with 15 year collection of spare engines and misc parts. selling with low reserve price. all must go . will not separate out any parts . selling to USA only . winning bidder must arrange pick up . I will try as accuratley as possible to remember all the new parts I put into this and give an oversight of all the the spare engines and new and used parts that come with this.any ommission is not deliberate and as any new info comes to light I will try to add it.The milage listed is not correct. I have somewhere between 1400 and 1800 miles on this . I have used this as my automobile all spring summer fall and part of winter and its never let me down.I never had to push it home or pick it up with my Van.The speedometer is new out of the box made in india and the rubber mounting cup is made in taiwan and I cant figure quite how to elegantly and firmly mount it in there without gluing it in wth blobs of rtv silicone since the studs on the bottom arent long enough to go thru the rubber bottom. That's the problem with these pattern replacement parts.I'll leave it up to you.I also dont know the ratio of this speedo but it comes with a brand new indian speedo drive for the rear wheel plus an extra used smith's in with the pile of spare parts. The Speedometer has zero miles on it as of this writing. This engine was completley overhauled by me from March 9th thru March 29th 2012 . It got a new valve job new guides new +.060 piston and rings new clutch plates and primary chain. I ground and polished the rocker arms so that it would rev freely.I put a high output Wassell Alternator in it and updated the crank and connecting rod with one out of a 1971 T25T Triumph Trailblazer and installed the much more reliable Cast Iron Oil Pump. The Crankshaft sludge trap was removed and throuroughly cleaned and replaced . the Crankshaft got a new timing side ball bearing and new primary side roller bearing. The Connecting rod didn't need a new split shell rod bearing but it got one any way.it is standard. The transmission got all new bearings as well.and also a brand new kickstart gear and ratchet.I installed a brand new 14 tooth front sprocket and new RK rear Chain . the Cheng Shin trials tires were installed brand new in march and I put in new rar brakes. The forks are rebuilt with brand new Chrome hardened fork legs, seals, new chrome seal holders And bronze bushings.I repainted it to the best of my ability with duplicolor cherry red T199 paint clear coated with VHT 500 degree engine clear coat and waxed it with 4 coats of turtle wax liquid wax its an "ok" job, but not professional by any means plenty of areas I should have wet sanded better. I rate it as a "good from ten feet away " paint job. the rubber fork gaiters are starting to separate and I have glued them back together with black three M weatherstrip adhesive.after being in the house for 3 weeks its now starting to wet sump and dribble a couple drops of oil every day on to my living room floor.this bike is a daily driver with numerous scratches blems and imperfections the wheels are good looking but you wont win any shows with them as they have rust spots here and there and the front has a thumb size patch where the chrome is missing. I am selling this and all the spare parts AS IS no warranty, though its has and continues to serve me well except for now, in the below zero weather I aint gonna ride it.It has great compression and starts sometimes in 1 kick ,sometimes in 7 kicks It likes to be flooded as I have installed a 26mm carb and set the float level on the "lowish "side .I just installed a cold weather manual choke to help with the starting drill. The horn works nice and loud , the pilot light, High beam and low beam work as do the tailight and brake light and front and rear brake switches.NOTE since I found online and added the Bash plate, it wont let the center stand decend, you would have to saw a portion off the bash plate to use the center stand or remove it. the collectors out there would hang me for chopping up an intact bash plate so I left it be.while this is on auction I will be tidiing up things ,double checking for loose nuts ofr loose electical connections and replacing the fork oil and draining and refilling the gearbox with Shell 80w 90W topping up the Oil tank with 20w 50 w Valvoline ,The oil was just changed 100 miles ago.The rear shocks are brand new Emgo replacements for Girling.I have a used Boyer bransden electronic ignition for this the transistor box is installed in the tool box with adhesive and the rest of it is in the cardbord box ,it came off of a good running BSA B50 victor MX .I played around for an hour trying half heartedly trying to make it spark but wasnt sucessful, but I was just out of the hospital on 7 heart meds so you can probably pick up where I left off,Its running on points right now.On Jan-15-13 at 16:15:01 PST, seller added the following information: I reserve the right to cancel negative feedback bidders or bidders with zero or low feedback Bidding starts at $249 Happy bidding
