Vehicle Detail
Up for auction wtih a low starting price is this nice little Honda CL100 from 1972. I got this gem about 8 years ago from a neighbor with the intent to completely restore it. It sat in my garage for about five years and then I put new tires, cables and housings, a new battery, and some assorted trim items on it. It also got the benefit of a full mechanical going over by a professional mechanic (oil change, plugs, tank flush, chain, points, and carb rebuild.) The clutch and compression are great, the brakes work reliable but I would replace the pads at some point. The steering column lock is intact, but the key is missing. The starting key is missing, as is the cylinder, so there is a simple black "on/off" switch for the bike. (See photos.) All the electrics work, but this is a 6v bike and its old so if you have the light on high and a blinker on you have to rev it a bit to keep it running. the seats in good condition for riding but has two small tears, the tanks has a bit of rust visible inside but it has never clogged the fuel filter, and I can't see any in it. The heat shield over the muffler has a break in the vaning, but is still sturdily bolted in place. The chrome is in great shape! one of the brake levers has lost its finial at the end and one mirror is JB welded in place, I assume because it was stripped. At some point in its life it was given a "cafe racer" look which is not original to the bike (I learned after buying it!) but still very cool. It has flat bars and custom fiberglass side covers. The tank and covers were spray-painted flat black. The rear pegs were sadly removed, as was the leaner kickstand. It still has the upright kickstand though. These mods give the bike a really neat flat-track racing appearance but I'd weld a set of pegs back on. I have a California title but the bikes been unregistered for 3 years as I have barely ridden it. The odometer reads 9311 but the speedo doesn't work, and the previous owner had replaced the original with a donor. I think the bike has about 4000 actual miles on it. It's a fun little runner and hits about 55 mph at 6500' elevation! I also have the appropriate Clymer manual with the bike. I would prefer buyer picks up locally but am willing to assist shipping if necessary. buyer pays all costs associated with shipping, and we would agree via e-mail or phone to possible additional costs if shipping assistance is required. Additional photos available on request. You are bidding on the items in the photos and I NOT an expert. I do have some experience though and I am describing the item as carefully as I possibly can. BID TO WIN, this bike has a low starting bid price and will go fast. THERE IS NO RESERVE!
