Vehicle Detail
1990 MB 300d 2.5 turbo diesel non-rebuildable salvage PARTS CAR, runs and drives, show 165k miles, many useful parts for repair or conversion of W124 chassis to diesel. I bought this car at an insurance auction in '06 or '07 with big plans and good intentions to convert my 300e wagon into a clone of the the rare 1987 diesel W124 wagon. As you can see, this never came about and I'm in the process of getting ready to relocate, all still-born projects must go! This was a 'flood car' but it certainly wasn't submerged much as there was no water in the oil or transmission fluid, with the addition of a battery it ran great. The seats and windows did not seem to work so maybe water did get into the wiring channels in the floor, the back left window is stuck down but has been draped with a tarp. Since then it's sat around, been moved once or twice, but not run much at all. It will start easily and drive but the brakes are a little stiff from disuse. There're no rust issues so all the panels can be used for replacements, the front clip is in great shape, doors undamaged, etc. unlike you find with the usual non-rebuildable salvage car... These engines are hard to find and this is a low milage good condition example of this MB diesel, put a battery in it and it starts instantly. Contact me with questions or to come see it, I can provide video of it running, just need an email address. The car isn't in the way where it is so it doesn't need to be picked up immediately but I will need payment in full to store it and it'll need to be gone by April. Please do not bid if you do not intend to pay, don't know if you have the money, aren't sure this is the right engine for your car, must clear it with your wife, etc...
