1973 TOYOTA LANDCRUISER FJ 40 No Reserve! Bid with Confidence. 1973 Fj40 Land cruiser in great shape. I purchased this cruiser over a year ago and it has just been sitting in the garage ever since. It runs good (runs a little rich, may need carb adjustment), has new exhaust system. Blinkers, brake lights, head lights and horn just got rewired and work properly. New power steering gear box and outer tie rods. (i have receipts for this stuff also). It has a built 400 chevy small block and here are some of the specs: edelbrock performer rpm cam, edelbrock performer rpm intake manifold, edelbrock performer carb, gear to gear timing, block has been decked, heads have been milled w/ flat top pistons, hooker headers, lifter valley on the block has been polished bored .40 over, painless wiring harness, power steering, detroit lockers (front & rear), new turbo 350 tranny, new fuel tank, new fuel pump, 4" lift w/ 33" x14.50 Super Swamper Boggers mud tires (about 85%-90% tread left on all tires), This FJ40 comes with an extra set of front and rear axles with warn hubs (have disc brakes on the front or rear, cant remember which, but i haven't had time to switch them over). The brakes currently on the cruiser do work, but they don't work great... I took it for a spin over Christmas, and the transmission cable apparently was sitting on the exhaust pipe and melted, so that will need to be replaced...luckily it is stuck in neutral until a new cable is installed, but the transmission works fine. This cruiser looks good, has minimal surface rust, and NO major rust. I also have one rear seat in great shape, some fender flares that are new that were never installed, new bull bar for front bumper (never installed), and a few other miscellaneous things. Here are a list of things that it will need: Driver side window regulator (about $60), Rear Latch does not open from the outside so this will need to be replaced, transmission cable (because it melted on the exhaust pipe), the B&M shifter that is currently in it works but was not installed properly so i would suggest getting a new one installed properly (about $100-$200 for new shifter) (cruiseroutfitters.com will have most all of the little stuff needed ---ie: window regulator, rear latch, etc.) I don't know much more about this cruiser. I bought it with the intentions of doing a full restoration but am now unemployed and going back to school. The body of this cruiser is in really good shape and solid.
