More pictures upon request 1977 GMC 3500 Dually, only 43K original miles, Gorgeous classic Truck!!! 1 ton, rated at 10,000 pounds GVW Talk about going back in time!! Remember the Roar of a GM 454? This truck has it! It is NOT a trashed rusted out, high mileage used and abused wannabe hot rod! This stock 454 equipped truck with low original mileage has great classic looks, very high torque, sounds great and has lots of power! Could be that almost perfect gift for your special someone or maybe reliving a fond memory of the past! Gorgeous old school 1977 GMC Sierra 3500 Camper Special, only 43,000 miles. Duel fuel capacity! Runs excellent on both regular gasoline and Propane! I just put 20 gallons of propane in this truck at a cost of $1.65 a gallon. Has a stock 454 engine, Turbo 400 transmission and heavy duty rear end. Options are power steering, air conditioning, heater, cruise control, power windows, power door locks, hydro boosted front disc brakes, drum rears, heavy duty front and rear sway bars, blue cloth /vinyl trim interior with a custom matching center console, trailer brake controller and much more. This is a good running, solid low mileage classic truck. I know the history on this old school classic as it was Dad's and Mom's pampered toy. Truck was placed in storage in 2002, Dad passed away in 05. Only about 50-100 miles a year since, mostly stored under cloth and tarp covers. Truck was brought up to current road worthy condition during the last 2 years by a professional certified mechanic. Paint and all trim is drop dead gorgeous! Paint shines like a jewel and the matching blue interior looks almost like new! NO BODY RUST!! You could almost shave by your reflection in the paint! Chrome and trim is bright and virtually defect free, as if it was driven off a GMC dealers lot a couple of months ago! I still have the original build sheet for this GMC and the original 1970's dealer paperwork too. Jay Wolfe GMC. They are still in business. This is a classic old school toy hauler. The low original mileage of 43K is due to it's main usage of towing a Featherlite horse trailer 1-4 times a year. Not even a piece of wood was hauled in the bed! Very well maintained. Very comprehensive maintenance with an extensive new parts list in the last year alone including 6 new tires 11/26/2012! The 454 engine fires up immediately and just purrs! It's tight, doesn't leak or use oil, no smoke!! Engine oil from first change has been Castol GTX 10w/30 in winter, 10w/40 in summer, no additives. One turn of the flywheel startup and shutdowns! 3 month old major engine tune up. First the compression was checked, then quality platinum plugs, premium wires, premium distributor cap/rotor and the distributor had the advance curve set for optimal 454 engine running performance. The major tune up also included a professionally rebuilt Quadrajet, custom tuned for this 454 (7.4L)engine. Transmission was just professionally serviced (No debris was found in pan) with a total fluid flush of lines and torque converter too. It shifts tight, precise, almost as new. A/C is still an original R-12 system, only lost 3/4 pound in the last few years! No reason to modify it to 134a. New a/c blower motor last year, a/c cools to 28 degrees, cycles back on at 38 degrees on high fan setting! Will include 3-12oz.cans of R-12 for future use. The heater will drive you out of the cab, Radiator, all hoses, thermostat, heater core, radiator cap and all belts are new as of November 2012. Fan clutch and water pump replaced last year. Front bearings cleaned, checked, repacked and torqued with new seals. Same for the rear axle bearings and seals. New shocks! Hydro boosted brakes are newly rebuilt with all new parts, master cylinder, loaded calipers, all new brake hardware and even a new brake proportioning valve! All power steering hoses have been replaced and the system flushed. Alignment has been checked, shop said no adjustment or repairs needed. Steering is very tight, no excessive play in steering wheel! Exhaust system is very good shape; 2 year old replacement mufflers and is reasonably quiet. No noticeable engine noise in the cab with the doors closed (except the roar of the quadrajet when floor boarded) however the rich deep exhaust tone of this 454 is apparent to other vehicles driving beside you. I know, had several lookers when I took it for an extensive road test. Two other newer trucks wanted to race! (No, I didn't) Drive line rebuilt and balanced, differential has new axle seals and synthetic lube changed. BTW: rear end ratio is 3.73. New Battery in August of 2012. I also have replaced most of the parking/running lights with new LED bulbs, very bright! Original spare tire under bed, 7.50x16, appears to have never been on the ground, has rubber nubs and rubber mold flashing. NO RATTLES!!!!! You can talk normally at over 70 mph. Doors shut tight, weather-stripping is in excellent shape. Smooth ride on the highway but could use a few hundred pounds in the bed or a full 60 gallons of Propane when driving about in town. I ton trucks have extra heavy duty rear suspension. Kept stock, only modification is duel fuel capability using propane and gasoline. Runs on regular gasoline, no pre ignition or pinging problems. Propane transfer hose and fittings are included with this sale, what is referred to as a "wet leg". Not sure how to use it-but if you want it, it is included in this sale. All this recent maintenance has been extensive and complete. My original plans were to make a 3000+ mile trip with this truck hauling my bike and a quad-now it is surplus to my needs. Plans changed, purchased a turbo charged 30 mpg sedan. I'll rent what I need when I get to Rocky Point, Mexico. Again, NO BODY RUST, NO CAB OR BED RUST!!!! Many more pictures available.
