Vehicle Detail
This car is being re listed because the bidder who won the auction would not pay for the car. The buyer Carl Sharp bidding through the bidder name sharp69t will not be allowed to bid or make offers on this car. Additionally the bidder 5588larry will also not be allowed to bid as he carried the high bid through much of the last auction and then used the excuse that he had placed the bid "accidentally" and withdrew his bid later.(Although we had telephone communications as well as email correspondence about the car and he was fully aware of his bid). Please feel free to call if you have any questions PRIOR to bidding. The last time I listed the car it had near 10,000 hits, 144 questions , 28 phone calls and at auction end had over 400 watchers. I had the pleasure to visit with many Ford enthusiasts who know and appreciate just how historically significant this Cobra is, mated with an extremely rare factory nose piece. I want to pursue other hobbies now and am ready to sell this vehicle. I would hope that someone who knows and respects Ford history will purchase and re assemble this project as it would certainly be the most rare vehicle you would likely see at any car show and the center of attention at a car museum. Richard W. Johnson 979.219.9542 Central Time (please be respectful) 1970 Ford Torino King Cobra, This is a project car, painted 5 years ago and never re-assembled. It is a relatively low mileage car and has an original Ford Motor Company prototype NASCAR fiberglass front clip, Original 429 CJ pro built to near standard specs at a local shop, rare Shelby Manifold/pro built original cast tail original C-6/pro built Traction Lok 3.91 diff/comes with original 3:00 included, Has new 140 mph factory speedo/Rare Dixco hood tach/original very nice DOOA-5263-A Ford exhaust tips/new crossover exhaust pipe/original factory made proto type headlamp covers/original factory prototype bumper/very clean interior with nice console/original air cond compressor/condensor/original fan shroud and fan/new weatherstrip kit/new carpet/extra set of factory valve covers/many duplicate parts/original sway bar/Set of Corp dog dishes w trim rings/many new parts/new flywheel(flexplate)/I have one new original tire/it has original tires on it, but not good/the wheels will have to be reconditioned if used, but they came on this car as new./I do have a Marti Report/original keys/ The car since painted has only seen daylight for about 5 hours and kept in clean dry storage. This is an unfinished project. The passenger front floorboard was the only piece of rusted metal replaced and it was taken from a wrecked/storage unit for 25 years California donor car. There are a couple of very small defects in the paint but overall it is beautiful. I cannot find the original distributor---but I am still looking. There may be a few pieces that I have lost through the years, but most is there, and certainly the goodies that keep it right. I have all of the owners manuals and history about King Cobras that most folks are not aware of. I will post as many pics as allowed but an email can get more if you are interested. Please contact me through the ebay system to establish other forms of communication. Clear Texas title
