Vehicle Detail
1957 Chevrolet 3600 Pickup Truck with major restoration work already done. It is very nice to drive and gets plenty of looks! The pictures show a great deal of the work, so take a good look at the pics. I bought this truck to completely restore top to bottom. I have gone through most the truck to get it road worthy. It has about 100 miles of trouble free break-in driving on it as of this posting. The truck runs and drives very well for the age of it. I have spent thousands of dollars on quality replacement parts and upgrades foe this truck. It has countless hours of labor spent on it, as well. I will try to cover all the repairs, rebuilds, replacements and work put in the truck to give you the best description I can. The truck has some excellent upgrades to help make it pleasant to drive year round. I replaced the factory wiper system with a new 2 speed wiper system, it works much better than the original. I also installed a complete new heater/defrost system. The Hurricane Heater system delivers heat to the defrost or floor and dash panel heat. It has a 3 speed motor and works fantastic in the cold weather. I replaced the door seals and added some weather stripping to the side windows, it heats up nicely. I have had this truck taken down to the frame to make it easy to restore. Only the truck cab did not come off the frame, the rest of the body was removed for restoration. I would have removed the cab, but it was so clean underneath. The truck was built in California and I think it has lived its life here on the west coast. It has some rust here and there, but not a lot for this body style. The floor pans are very good, steps are great, cab corners have been “repaired” before but don’t seem to have been super rusty, the bed is pretty nice other than some of the side rail that sits on the wood bed floor is rusty (I removed some parts that were ugly as seen in the pics of the bed), Hood has some rust bubbles in the back corners otherwise very nice, fenders are pretty good. Overall the truck is in pretty good condition for its age. I was going to have truck painted “hot Rod” Black, but life has changed for me. My loss your gain! This truck would make an amazing Shop Truck or delivery Rig for your business. It would be a great driver or finish the restoration and show it. I wanted it to be my Weekend Warrior truck……hauls dirt bikes, Home Depot runs, etc….. I wish it was different, but it’s not. So….here is my 1957 Chevrolet 3600 Pickup, Long Box, ¾ ton heavy duty suspension, 2 wheel drive, 6 cylinder with 3 speed on the tree! A great truck that will continue to be a Classic American Icon!!! The engine is a low mile, good running engine. I am not sure if it is a numbers matching engine or transmission. The transmission works great, shifts easy and is pretty quiet. There is a new clutch that the previous owner installed when he installed the engine and trans. I have gone over just about everything under the skin of this truck! The frame is very nice and has been painted in a commercial Flat Black paint to keep it protected. The underside of the truck is very nice! So much was done to get her road worthy. Almost every part in the brake system: the master cylinder, brake pads, wheel cylinders, hardware and rubber lines were replaced. The drums were machined, too. The wheel bearings were packed and wheel seals replaced with new ones. I installed new front and rear u-joints. The chassis was lubed front to back, were possible. The electrical system was replaced: Complete new wiring harness with new headlight, wiper, fan, flasher, dimmer and stop light switches. Remanufactured generator and battery make the charging system perform great! New battery cables, hoses, radiator cap, tune-up parts including new coil. The interior looks very nice and feels really comfortable driving down the road. The seat is in great condition and is very comfortable. The truck has new carpet, pedal pads, new gas tank and sending unit. The dash looks good and everything but the speedo and horn work. The speedo has a new cable, but it does not register the speed when driving. There is no horn installed on this truck. There are no seat belts in the truck, but feel free to install some. The glass is all good except the passenger side wing widow is plexi-glass, looks good. Windows roll up and down good. The truck is pretty quiet driving down the road other than the driver’s side window rattles some. The truck bed was replaced with a very nice “rough cut” wood floor, stained in Ebony. All new bed bolts and wood floor bolts. I am sure that I forgot more than a thing or two that has been done to this truck, but this should tell you a pretty good amount about the care that went into building this truck. I think you can get in this truck and drive it where ever you want. It seems to be very reliable and has a ton of new parts. It does have the old tires on it, I would recommend replacing them. The truck has been stored for years and does not have current license plates on it. I have a clear Oregon title to this truck. Feel free to come test drive it to make sure you like it! No bidders with less than 10 positive feedbacks can bid! The sale is final and truck is sold as-is, where it is. Buyer responsible for shipping. Buyer must complete transaction within 10 days of auction close. I am more than happy to keep the truck in my shop while you secure transportation, up to 30 days. On Jan-02-13 at 05:07:44 PST, seller added the following information: Took the truck for a little country drive....such a great driving truck! This truck just needs the paint to be redone and it will be a forever cool classic rig. The paint is okay for a daily driver, but has some chips/scratches touched up with sealer. The paint is the very very worst thing on this classic 57 Chevy. The interior is nice, engine bay is beautiful and the undercarriage is spectacular looking! Hop in, hit the ignition switch and go driving. The automatic chokes works great! The heat blows fantastic and keeps you very warm on these cold days. The truck rides and drives great for being the classic it is! Come take it for a drive!! I AM EASY TO CONTACT AND WILL ANSWER ALL THE QUESTIONS. PLEASE DON"T BID UNLESS YOU ARE FOR REAL! I AM ONLY SELLING THIS BECAUSE I HAVE TO.....SO IT WOULG BE GREAT TO DEAL WITH GOOD EBAY BUYERS!!!! THANK YOU!!
