1970 CJ-6, frame up restoration. I purchased this Jeep about 9 years ago from a local farmer who had left it sit in a barn for 10 years following its prior life working for the CA Dept of Forestry. During the first 3 years that I owned the Jeep, I tore it completely apart, sandblasted and repaired frame and body, and rebuilt it as a multi-purpose family Jeep. I installed a Chevy 327 (bored .040), high compression heads, Edelbrock intake and 4 barrel carb, Pete Jackson gear drive, Edelbrock dress-up items. Engine was placed low and rear-ward in frame to balance the overall Jeep (see pictures of custom dog-house in cab.) Trans is a T-18 4 speed with first as granny gear (rebuilt at same time as motor) with Advance Adapters adapter to Dana 20 Transfer Case (rebuilt with twin stick with low 2 and 4 wheel option.) Front axle is a Dana 30 with 6 bolt Warn hubs with new axles and seals. Rear end is original off-set Dana 44 with new axles and seals. Saginaw power steering conversion with frame reinforcement. Custom aluminum dash with Autometer gauges (all work except for electronic speedometer.) Speedometer needs to be calibrated. New front seats and center console. Rear seat is used, but in decent shape. I built the Jeep for our family to use as a fun weekend vehicle capable of street, dirt, rocks and sand. It performs exceptionally well in all conditions, but I purchased a new JK to accommodate our growing family (now at 5 kids.) The body was welded at all seams and seams were sealed. Due to body flexing, there are some minor cracks in the paint (see picture below.) Other than that, the Jeep is ready to go! I wouldn't hesitate to drive this anywhere, weather permitting. Included in the sale is a full CJ-6 hard top (original top, side panels, rear door and all glass.) I have everything for the top minus the doors. I also have the original grill if the buyer wants to replace the DJ grill (installed for more radiator room due to stock front cross member.) Buyer is completely responsible for shipping, but I can help load. Jeep was recently purchased back from my brother-in-law after he owned the Jeep for two years. Due to the Jeep staying in the family, I can account for the treatment of the Jeep for the last 9 years. Jeep is for sale locally and I reserve the right to end auction early.
