Vehicle Detail

Up for auction is my 1973 Chevy 4x4. I would first like to say a few things. I have been wrenching on these chevy trucks for 30 years and trust myself much more than your local mechanic shop. I know exactly what I'm getting with no short cuts. I picked this truck up about a year ago. The truck was not completly assembled as it was a project in the works. The Engine was completly rebuilt but the previous owner had 10:1 Flat top pistons installed in this 30 over 4 bolt main engine. Great compression for a street truck. The problem was that he had stock smog heads rebuilt for this motor and a mild rv cam. This really kills the 10:1 flat top pistons. With that combination it would knock it down to about 8:1 compression. I removed the heads as well as the cam. I purchased I nice Magnum Cam from Jegs as well as a set of 202 Alumnum Heads and a new Edelbrock Carburetor. I also had to purchase a RPM Air Gap intake to accomidate the heads because the intake runners are much taller, similar to the vortec heads. With this being said, this engine is a screamer. I went through this truck from bumper to bumper and replaced many other parts, reciepts included. In no paticular order I replaced the entire brake system, drums-rotors-wheel cylinders-pads-shoes-master cylinder and booster. I replaced the seals on axle shafts while I had everything apart. New fuel pump, new out put seals on both differentials and transfer case. New Heedman Hedders and heavy duty Edelbrock valve covers. New Duel 3" exhaust and Mufflers. The tires are all 33 and I replaced 2. I found a new one on craigslist and purchased a matching one at a local 4x4 shop. $500.00 just for them 2 tires. The other two were like new. There is also a matching spare, tire and wheel. The rear drive shaft has new u-joints and the front was completly rebuilt, reciept included. All the glass is good with a rear slider. The truck has its original paint with a little rust on the cab corners and the lower door, and in the standard areas but not too bad for a 1973. This truck body is actually in very good condition to most in original condition. I do have the cab corners in the toolbox that is in the back of the truck. I dont think the body work is all that extensive to get this truck really looking good. These short bed 4x4 are getting harder to find in this condition. This truck is 100% Mechanically sound and it has been nick named the beast ot the tank everywhere I have went in this truck. You can hear this truck coming for miles. It has 3.73 in both the front and rear axle's. I dont think there is much that could stop this truck. The motor is a power house and most everything new to make this a very solid mechanically sound truck. The truck also has a new 6" lift on it also. Also has new clutch. So from the engine and everything in it and on it, the lift kit, exhaust, brake system, seals, clutch, New front drive shaft, and tires, there has been a lot of money put into this truck mechanically. You could drive this truck from coast to coast with no worries. Only about 3,000 miles have been put on this truck since all the work was done. The reason I am selling this truck is that it is a little too much truck for me. Im close to 50 now and all that shifting really gets old. Its really fun to drive and I gaurentee you it will set every car alarm off when you pass by!!! This truck is not lacking any power what so ever. There is also a 7 quart moroso oil pan on this motor. I have already changed he oil 4 times in the 3,000 miles the motor has on it. I have just used conventional oil as using synthetic oil is not good for the first 5,000 miles as the rings would not have seated very well because it is much to slick. The engine has no issues at all with leaks, noise or smoke. I would be more than happy to take a video for you while I drive this truck and send it to you if intrested. The 4x4 works fine also, NP 205 bullet proof transfer case. Everything on this truck mechanical wise is new. I have alot of money in reciepts on this truck and there will be no disappointments here. If you ever heard the saying that this truck could pull a train, this is the one.. My reserve is set at a very low price considering all the time and money put into this truck. The engine alone is worth what I'm looking to get out of this truck, not counting the other thousands of dollars spent on this truck. I offered a buy it now as well as a best offer. I'm also open to offers. If there are any questions please feel free to contact me via ebay or feel free to call me 303-513-1767 Mike. Just a short break down of the money put into this truck. I understand the body is not perfect and painted, but its in pretty good shape for being original with original paint. Most trucks of this age are usually pretty bad with massive rust and body damage. Wouldn't take much to get this truck looking great when it comes to the body, the mechanical work is done. The following is the money already put into this truck and if you compare that to my asking price or best offer, you will see that you couldn't get this far with an older chevy 4x4 short bed. Pistions 10:1  150.00, Cam and Heads, 1,300, Machine work 500.00, Lift Kit which included new springs 500.00, 5-33" tires and 5 matching aluminum wheels 1,300,  new front drive shaft and new u-joints in rear, 300.00, Complete brake system- drums, rotors, wheel cylinders, pads, shoes, master cylinder and booster 500.00,  clutch 150.00, seals 50.00, Edelbrock Air Gap intake and  Edelbrock carburetor  500.00, Hedman Hedders 200.00,  3" duel exhaust 550.00 All that is actual funds put into this truck with only 3,000 miles on everything. That totals 6,000 That does not count all my work put into this truck or the truck itself and the truck comes with new cab corners, all the glass is new with the windshield being new. new heater core, a very solid brush guard and a Dixie Air Horn. I just thought I would show everyone the actual money that has went into this truck and that doesn't even include the actual money for the truck. I know you never get out of them what you get into them, but this is a great deal for what I'm asking vs the work that has been put into this truck. I have been doing Ebay for along time and have sold many cars and trucks with nothing but positive feedback. Please be assured that I am a great mechanic when it comes to the older Chevy's!! I have been working on these cars and trucks for close to 30 years. If you knew me, I guarantee you that you would bring your collector chevy to me to tune or work on before your local commercial dealership. I'm old school and actually know what I'm doing from experience and not hitting the books to see or read specs. I have done so many it's second nature and I do not half step anything. It's much more efficient. I personally own a dozen older Chevy's and only one being a standard other than this chevy shortbed. That is a 70 SS El Camino. All the others are automatic. Just can't do all that shifting anymore and this truck is a beast for sure. I don't mean that in a bad way, its like driving a monster truck and I'm getting too old for that. I imagine if this truck doesn't sell I will just pull the engine and throw a stock 350 in there and sell for a couple thousand dollars with no problem. That would be a shame because for a little more someone would get a really solid 4x4 that is 100% mechanically sound with a pretty bad ass motor. The transfer case is also a NP205 very fitting for this truck because that transfer case is bullet proof. Anyway, I could go on and on about this stuff. Thanks for looking and please be assured that you will be getting your money's worth at 4k or best offer.
