Vehicle Detail
Here is the truck and the deal you have been looking for! It took me a year to find this nice 1968 Ford Ranger 87,000 mile short bed survivor. I bought this truck in dry rust-free North Carolina where it was purchased new and treasured by the owner for many years. I brought the truck to Florida and tore it down for a planned restoration. The truck is 99% rust and dent free. The truck came from the factory with dark green paint, a 360 2V FE engine, three-speed manual transmission on the column and no power accessories. The truck was painted black early in its life. The paint is old, but still shiny. There are a few places where the clear coat is starting the flake off. The grill is beautiful. The body and bed are straight and there is no bondo or filler of any kind in this truck. The underside of this truck is clean and rust free. The only slight bit of rust is on the flat part of the bed directly behind the driver. I believe the truck must have had a bed liner at one time, because the bed is nearly dent free. The doors open and close like a new truck. The truck is currently a roller and will need to be picked up with a trailer. The steering column and box have been swapped for a F100 power steering column with an automatic column shifter. The power steering worked great before I torn the engine down. The truck comes with a freshly rebuilt heavy duty truck C6 that has just come from a professional rebuilder with a stock converter. The truck also comes with a standard bore 390 block from a 66 Thunderbird and the original 360 block. The block will need to be bored and new cam bearings installed. The stock 390 crank has been turned .010. The 390 rods have been rebuilt with new bushings. The stock heads have hardened valve seats installed, new springs, retainers and a recent value job. A Comp Cams RV cam with hydraulic lifters is also included. The intake is a stock cast iron 390 GT "S Code" intake. All the engine parts are there like the rockers, water pump, fuel pump, brackets, oil pump and oil pan. I have a freshly rebuilt 428 Cobra Jet 715 Holley that I will throw in on the deal. A new-in-the-box set of Headman tube headers is also included. The truck needs a new driveshaft, but has a new starter and alternator. The truck has very cool old 15” Western Slotted wheels and decent tires. The 9” rear is a 3.25. Don’t know if it’s posi or not. The truck needs a new windshield. The front grill is in great shape and has been freshly polished. The truck needs a headliner, carpet and seat covers. Throughout the years I have restored a lot of old Fords and this is one of the nicest F100 survivor Rangers I have seen. I’m selling it because I recently developed health issues and I am not able to restore it. If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to ask. The reserve is low and very reasonable. Happy bidding!
