Vehicle Detail

0 false 18 pt 18 pt 0 0 false false false I purchased this 1979 Porsche 930, VIN # 9309800480, on November 17, 2010, out of California via Idaho, and immediately treated this example to an intensive interior restoration including a new dash, new leather front seat covers, and new carpeting. I installed Dynamat in the interior of the 930, including the doors, prior to the installation of the new carpet. The cockpit is quiet and without rattles. We additionally placed new bearings in the steering column to eliminate the typical steering shutter that many older Porsches experience. Parts and labor for the interior restoration exceeded $14,600.00. The only item left to replace is the headliner, which time prevented us from accomplishing this task. Some of the other parts replaced included the heater control cables, door handle seals, door panels, under dash panel to hide wiring, wipers and blades front and rear, cassette storage box, defroster vent trim, rear deck panel, and stainless steel sill plates. We just completed an “engine out” service at which time we replaced the CV joints, clutch, spark plugs, fuel filter and oil filter. We also replaced the distributor and rotor. At that time we had the valves adjusted, and then reinstalled the engine and transmission. The total cost for labor and parts for this service exceed $2,200.00. A new battery was installed in June of 2011, with battery tender cables installed at that time. The paint was professionally wet sanded and polished, and while under close inspection there are the normal rock chips in the front fascia and side rockers, the paint shows very nicely. The undercarriage shows no signs of damage and still has its original coatings, as does the underside of the front hood. There is a small scratch in the top of the sunroof which I elected not to repair, in addition to the normal road rash that one would expect. The tires were preplaced less than 1,000 miles ago, the oil is fresh, and it drives like you would expect a well sorted out 930 to drive. The A/C compressor is installed but not functional. There were only 1190 units produced in 1979 starting with VIN # 9309800011 and ending with VIN # 9309801200 Terms of sale require a minimum of 5 positive ratings, and a $2,000 deposit will be required within 48 hours of the end of bidding. The title is free and clear and the mileage is accurate based upon the prior service records. Please feel free to schedule a time to view this 930 in person, I can be reached at 260-414-3105.
