Vehicle Detail

2002 Ford F150 XLT truck 4.2L V6 2WD for sale is my daily driver. I have owned it since 2007. I bought it with 57,000 miles on it($12K), it now has 221,800 miles on it. The moon is 239K miles from earth. So it hasn't been that far yet. It has been on the highways a lot. It was not driven by a little old lady to church on Sundays. However; I have not mechanically abused it or driven it hard. I took it to on a 2100 mile round trip in October. I have never had any concerns about driving it cross country, but a newer F150 4x4 came up for sale at a reasonable price, so I need to sell this one to make some room. Here is what work I have done: changed oil every 5000 Miles.I have used valvoline max life exclusively after 100K full transmission rebuild at 200K. (less than 6 months ago)- $2000 it was not entirely necessary, but I had planned to keep the vehicle till 300K+ miles, so I had the trans done. front and rear brakes less than 20K miles ago new plugs/wire/coilpack in the last 6 months. I replaced fuel filter, MAF sensor and O2 sensors when they needed to be replaced. new alternator 75K miles ago. new serpentine belt and idler pulley 40K miles ago. ball joints and most of the front suspension has been replaced in the last 100K miles. it blows cold air. it blows hot heat. power windows and door locks all work with no issues. radio and all speakers work The vehicle has never been an accident, has never been in a flood, or any other natural or man-made disaster. it has never been abducted by aliens, as far as I know. this has been a VERY reliable truck. I have averaged 20-21 mpg on the 4.2L V6 (420+ miles on a 21gallon tank). It has always started easily, every time. It doesn't exhaust blue/heavy white smoke or make funny noises. The tires aren't new, but they have tread left. I will include 2 good used tires with lots of tread left with the purchase of the truck. it has a bedliner. it also has a motorcycle backrack. you can remove the rack with three bolts. Here is what is wrong with it: It recently sprung a small coolant leak at the intake manifold. this should be replaced.it doesn't overheat, and has not overheated in the past. it has been 30 degrees Fahrenheit here, so that may be why. It is not out of coolant, nor has it been run out of coolant. I am still driving it, I've probably put on 200 miles since i noticed the leak. it's not spraying out. it's leaking. YES, YOU CAN DRIVE IT HOME, OR I CAN DRIVE IT TO YOU. there's about 5 gallons of gas in it. if you are farther than 100 miles, you'll need to pay for gas/mileage. It drips about 1-2 drops of oil overnight from the oilpan gasket.gasket is $10 retail. Every 5000 miles I am about 1qt low. doesnt seem to burn any oil, and has plenty of power, and will cruise along at 80+ on the hwy (shhhh!) it has a slightly broken right front headlight lens and left rear taillight lens there is rust visible around the gas filler. there are various small scratches in the paint, but nothing major. there are no dents. the interior is not all that clean, and it has been smoked in. there is no spare tire. You need to bump the tailgate with your shoulder when you pull the latch, might just need lubed. the power mirror switch sometimes works, and sometimes doesn't. it either needs to be cleaned or replaced. the lid/latch for the center console is broken at the latch. it closes and latches. I never open it, so it hasn't been an issue there is a crack in the windshield it as the bottom of the windshield under the windshield wipers. it hasn't bothered me, so I haven't replaced it. it doesn't leak, and the crack doesn't seem to be getting any worse. SES (idiot) light is on,. codes are P1131, P0171, and P0174. These have been on for over 100K miles. they dont seem to create any idle or performance issues, technical service bulletin says: TSB 05-22-6 ISSUE: Some 2001-2003 F-150, 2004 F-150 Heritage and 2001-2003 E-150/250 vehicles equipped with a 4.2L engine may exhibit the malfunction indicator lamp (MIL) on with diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs) P1131 and/or P1151 (system too lean bank 1 or 2). This condition may be due to leaking isolator bolts/port gaskets in the upper-to-lower intake manifold mounting area. This condition is sometimes intermittent and may not be apparent on a warmed-up engine. SERVICE PROCEDURE Remove the upper intake and replace only the port gaskets (9H486) and isolator bolt assemblies (9S479). The new isolator bolt assemblies use a rubber material that is green in color, do not install the old isolator bolt assemblies with the black rubber material. Do not replace any other intake parts or gaskets. While the upper intake manifold is removed, check the exhaust gas recirculation (EGR) orifices that are pressed into each primary port of the lower intake manifold. If any of the orifices are plugged with soot, clean and unplug them with a pick and solvent. PART NUMBER PART NAME 1L3Z-9H486-AA Port Gasket Intake Plenum Gasket Set (listed under "Fuel/Air" section) - FEL-PRO Part # MS94452 Overhead Valve Engine; Plenum Gasket Set; Upper set $31.79 3F2Z-9S479-AA Isolator Bolt (listed under "Engine" section of catalog) - DORMAN Part # 55164 {#3F2Z 9S479-AA, XF2Z 9S479-AA} $25.89 Optional, but highly recommended: Replacement IMRC Bushings - Ford Part F5RZ-9F955-AB (you need 4) or Dorman Part # 47099 (Total cost less than $20) the problem doesnt seem to create any idle or performance issues, but if you want the light to go out, the entire procedure to fix this is detailed step-by-step very well here at this link: LINKHERE This has been an extremely reliable truck for me, and with light mechanical work, should continue to provide many miles of continued service On Dec-13-12 at 20:29:56 PST, seller added the following information: THIS IS 4 DOOR EXTENDED CAB. SOMEHOW EBAY THINKS ITS 2 DOOR STANDARD CAB.
