I took this truck in a couple weeks ago and we did some maintenance work to get it up and drivable. 1961 Ford F 100 unibody short bed pickup. This is what Ford called a unitized cab and bed design on a full frame. This was the first year this design was offered and they only made them for 3 years. There is no gap between the cab and bed, thus the unibody designation. This truck also has the one year only unibody grille. This truck spent most of it's life in California, so it is probably less rusty than many of these you will find. It is not rust free, but it is solid. The seats have been upgraded to later model Dodge truck seats. The engine and transmission are a 1973 Ford 351 Windsor 2 barrel engine with a 3 speed automatic transmission. Rear end is a Ford 9". Truck has dual exhaust. It runs and drives pretty well. Truck has the original spring suspension and straight axle front end. We just rebuilt the brake system. The truck has all new brake shoes, wheel cylinders, master cylinder and rubber hoses on the front. They work well. Everything seems to work on the truck with the exception of the wipers, but I should have them working by the time the truck is sold. Doors shut, gaps are all good. Paint is somewhere between an old restoration and rat rod in appearance. It has been touched up here and there and there are some chips to give it character. The fuel tank is actually the keg in the bed. Tires are decent. Lettering is all hand painted and references Milner's Hot Rod Shop, from the movie American Graffiti. It is just a cool old truck that runs, drives and stops. It turns heads, but it not a showpiece. It is simple and easy with no frills.
