Up for sale we have my project 1966 GMC shortbed stepside pickup with chrome smoke stacks with cherry bomb/glass pac mufflers.. Here is a quote from the original builder in 2004. Clear WA State title, registraion is good through Dec 2012. No smog needed in CA. "This is my "MUTT". It's a frame off restore/Hot Rod. I took a 1988 98 Olds, lifted off the body and junked it. Chasis has all new Poly bushings, Fresh HO 455 Pontiac motor, rebuilt TH400 Auto Trans, shaved heads, shaved block, .60 over, RV Cam, Kieth Black Pistons, Zero Gap rings...Power steering and brakes.After "some" fabrication, welding and "design as you go", I slid my GMC Stepside body down onto the OLDS Chassis. Interior has Electric Cadillac seats, new carpet, new gage cluster (made myself). So, it's a 1966 GMC Stepside, sitting on a 98 Olds frame, Electric Cadillac seats, Pontiac 455 engine, 1/4 inch plate steel bed with 4 corner tie downs, 1941 Buick Sedan rear bumper with 12 inches taken out of the middle. I "might" even have a Chevy part on there somewhere. :-) 1970 Pontiac 455, Big Cam, Alum Intake, Mickey Thompson Covers, K&N filter, K.B. .030 over pistons, Shaved .040 off the heads and .060 off the block. Hitting around 10.5/1 compression. Need MORE TRACTION!!!!!!" It has a new wiring harness that is mostly installed. I bought 2 backup lights on eBay, waiting for them to arrive. There's a light under the hood that has a wire that that extends the length of the truck and is magnetic to help change a tire at night, etc. Aftermarket steering wheel, electric heater, good glass. The power brakes are being installed today so they should stop this truck on a dime. There is an electric antenna that comes out of a frenched in custom mount on the side of the cab, very cool feature. There is no stereo or radio although I'm looking for a stock one to put in the dash. The engine fires up right away and runs strong. It has headers and an Edelbrock 4 bbl carb, 750 cm. Electronic ignition, new plugs, custom radiator. No problems mechanically but uses a lot of gas. I have a volt gauge and backup lights coming in the mail. The tires need to be replaced. There appears to be some bondo in the driver's door. A small amount of rust in the lower doors and the bottom of the fenders...nothing bad. The doors and the hood need to be adjusted, they are out of alignment. The front end needs alignment. The rims are rusty, I'd replace them with Cragar wheels from the 60's.
