Vehicle Detail

The level of restoration on this coupe is on par with any 500 hr plus undertaking. Project began in 2009 with a very well preserved example aquired from an enthusiast in Pa. It was a decent "20 foot" un-molested Sunday afternoon driver for me for the first 10 months of ownership and as I tinkered with the Zeniths and began searching for a suitable donor e28 or e24 for the resto-mod components, I saw a completey restored 3.0 with the CSL front dam and decided immediately that I wanted to "seamlessly" integrate the fiberglass into the sheet metal while leaving provisions to reinstall front bumper. There are lowering springs all around (La Jolla Independent) with 17 inch Beyern Wheels. Every driveline bushing or rubber mount replaced with oem parts. (I prefer the feel that rubber provides to that of polyurethane). In late 2009 I located a 1985 635 (gray market hi-compression m30) with a Getrag 265. This particular trans. provides means to drive the original e9 speedometer and odometer. All wood re-laminated and "hand rubbed" finish. Door panels and all body panels rustproofed, vapor barriers reapplied. All window motors and regulators repaired, cleaned and regreased. Extensive chrome rework and aluminum polishing. Battery moved into "cofferdam" in trunk which doubles as cross-over strut that ties the rear shock towers together. Beatifully restored interior with 1/2" of sound barrier under wool carpet. All guages and clock reworked at North Hollywood speedometer. All hardware in engine compartment re plated (cadmium and bright yellow zinc) All hardware associated with suspension were replaced. Radio with Satellite in glove box. The project is fully documented and available for public viewing. Please go to: www.bway.smugmug.com and you will see 4 seperate (high resolution) galleries for this car. The "e9 unmolested" contains pictures of the coupe as I received it from the 3rd owner in Pa. "e9 coupe restored" contains finished pictures. "Bits and Pieces" is an assortment of pictures along the way to completion. "e9 inspection" contains pictures documenting rust areas on this coupe. I made an entry into the Official e9 registry in 2010 indicating new ownership. Over the last year, since completion, I have accumulated 1,500 miles on the car and have every confidence that this coupe ready to show and enjoy. 2.8 liter engine with original 4 speed trans. and left over ancilliary parts included. I expect that I will field many questions and I will take your serious inquiries seriously. Receipts from previous owners as well as the receipts I have accumulated are available. I do this work as a passion and at my pace in my "spare time". This car was not rushed nor were shortcuts taken along the way. Change in my environment forces me to consider sale. Will discuss trade for diesel pusher, 300HP, less than 100K miles of equal tangible value. Real estate? No monkey business please.
