Vehicle Detail
RARE. 1972 Ford F250 Crew Cab 3/4 Ton, Custom Cab. There were less than 400 F250 Crew Cabs made in 72. The truck is in Great original shape with what is probably 99,893 original miles and very little rust, most of which is only minor surface. This truck was my dads, who bought it in 1975 in Arkansas where it has stayed since. It was originally in Texas I believe. He passed away 9 yrs ago and it sat until about a year ago. The truck had a light restore done around 10 yrs ago including paint and engine replacement. The engine came out of a 74 F250 and was rebuilt shortly before installation. It had the following included: Heads had hardened seats, CompCams valve springs, Crane Adustable Rockers, New Rocker Shafts, Short Block has a Small Performance Cam. 223 degrees at .050", .513"Lift 110 degree sep. Also a Crane Electronic Ignition conversion, Holley 600 Silver Series with Ford kickdown. The bed is not original but we have the original one, it seems to be heavier built, it is available if requested. In the Spring of this year, I installed a new starter, had the carb rebuilt and gas tank cleaned. I drove it over 100 miles to a carshow in June. I have a 16 year old who wants a smaller vehicle for high school so it has to go. Wish I could keep but not feasible for me. There were 645,225 1972 Ford Trucks made in 1972. 154,379 of those were F250 Trucks. Of them 37,174 came with 390-2V Engines. 30,745 of those had Auto Trans. 387 of these had the Crew Cab option. Feel free to email me or call Ron at 501-940-8076 if you have questions or want more pictures. On Dec-15-12 at 12:25:13 PST, seller added the following information: Today, I included some more pics of some usual problem areas including bottoms of the doors and rocker panels which are good , just some surface rust, cab corners and some mounts that I could get a picture of, and radiator mounts as well. Also, floor pan areas which have some surface rust which may include some pitting that would probably sand off, but no rust holes that I could see. There are a few dings on the body, one at the drivers side rear of the bed, and middle rear of bed, also a slight push at the bottom of the rear passenger side door. The rear bumper seems to sag but I think it can be adjusted. The painter didn't seem to paint all the way to the bottom ins some places for some reason but not very noticeable. The dash needs replaced or removed or covered. The seats are good as well as the headliner, the carpet is original. Overall, like I said earlier, great original shape, just needs tlc to make it perfect. Of course it is very rare and getting almost impossible to find one of these. Happy Bidding!
