Vehicle Detail

It’s time to sell my 1973 IH 1310, affectionately known as Big Red. This truck spent its entire life as a fire and public service support truck in Monroe, LA until I purchased and restored. Originally had a service bed, but I replaced with stepside. I completed the restoration 3 years ago and it’s been stored in my garage since then. It is driven periodically for upkeep. I always receive compliments when driving this truck. Hate to let it go, but want to move on to another project. Odometer shows 22,226. It's possible that it could have rolled over 100,000, but I kind of doubt it since it was a fire service truck within city limits. Extremely reliable truck, just don’t plan on getting anywhere quickly. It’s a 1-ton truck geared incredibly low that will pull your house off the foundation. Power steering turns with one finger. Interior looks and feels like it just came off the assembly line and exterior always draws attention. They don’t make trucks like this anymore. It was made in USA, assembled in Springfield, OH. Don’t miss a chance to be the owner on its upcoming 30th birthday. More high resolution photos and videos can be seen at my photobucket link below. http://s1133.photobucket.com/albums/m591/Me3725/BigRed/AfterRestoration/ A few of the photos documenting the restoration can be seen at this link. http://s1133.photobucket.com/albums/m591/Me3725/BigRed/BeforeRestoration/ The list below describes what was accomplished during the restoration.Engine:ORIGINAL IH 345 cu.in. engineAll new gaskets throughout, new rear main sealNew hydraulic lifters and push rodsAll new belts/hosesTiming gears inspected (this is not a chain drive motor)Drained and flushed cooling system and block.
